How can you say shocking. We have just beaten the league leaders 4-2 and you say one of our players was shocking. Yeah maybe not one of his best games but who cares. Contributed to the team and all heroes.

he was abysmal every time anelka cut in side he just let him drift in to the box

My fears as well but surely they've done enough now to keep their place at the heart of our defence.

Good job tonight.

Gets back from where, he's been sat on the bench watching Kompany take his place from him surely?

On their respective displays today Terry should be looking nervously at Lescott.

Definately, on their form at the moment, Lescott is England's number 1 centre back.

Fair play to Lescott, he's taken a while to bed in. I still think he's no more than a £15mil player but hey, it's how he plays, not the cost, that matters.

Well he probably is worth 15-20m, but every player was overvalued in the summer.

I have to hold my hand up and say Kompany and Lecott look very good together. I wasn't a fan of Kompany and IMO he definitely was at fault for the goal today, but his overall performances in defence have both suprised and impressed me.

Well done Vinny, more of the same please!

Lescott was excellent, but thought Vinny was a bit dodgy and definately at fault for tehre goal.

Very true. Terry has been shite in recent weeks, whilst Lescott has been getting better and better.

Vinny does make the odd mistake, but remeber when Distin and Dunne were the best CB pairing outside the top 4, there were games where you would think Distin was covering up Dunnes fuck ups, and vice versa.

As long as a pair they complement each other and cover each other, they will work.

Vinny is aggressive and vocal, and really really up for every game, every minute, you can see him get pissed off with himself when he makes a mistake, and he encourages those around him, something Lescott seems to need.

Finally found our best back 4.

Now for the midfield!

I'm still not entirely convinced by our Right Back but the rest of your post is spot on IMO.

Kompany and Lescott to the end of the season and this will give us a great chance of top 4. Not convinced about Richards at right back, gives a few needless free kicks away. Fine with Bridge to the end of the season and maybe next season aswell.
