Lescott and kompany

Fucking brilliant.

I've been critical of the team of late but today they were fantastic. Well done to the lads and Mancini.

Definately the best central defensive partnership we have had since Dunne & Distin.

Bit of a fuck up by Vince for the first but we look more comfortable at the back than we have done in months. But has Richards been taking lessons from Zabba about giving away needless free kicks?

Yep our strongest pairing by far.

I just worry that they'll be broken up when Toure gets back.

Lets hope they stay fit and get a run together there. Best partnership we've got in the middle.

Delighted for Kompany,i was wondering would he make it back into the side when he recovered from injury.
Hes played himself into the side now and as a pairing himself and lescott are looking very good.

I hate (love) saying I told you so but these 2 will prove to be the boys - better players in their own right than both dunne (Kompany) and distin (lescott) - good times ahead - sorry Kolo, your days are numbered

Kompany prefers midfield, but he has such a good head on him that he is wasted there. In defence and attack you need to be able to head a ball hard, in midfield you should be chesting it down and playing it along the floor. Lescot looks th business now too, so I would keep with these 2 in defence and Big Nige in the midfield slot

I am not sure whether he does prefer midfield seeing as he doesn't play there for belgium or did at hamburg before he joined us, are there any quotes?
He played well in midfield the other night, but as you say, he's loads better used at CB

Tbh although I agree they're the best pair & did some terrific defending at times, I thought they made more errors today, along with Micah, than any of the back 4 since Mancini took over. Shay Given was fantastic when needed though so they got away with it. I think we would have been comfortably beaten had Toure played though.

errors that may have cost us I'll agree, but they also defended bloody well as a true quality pair of CB's should do - Richards had a poor game today I felt, but he's a lad and he'll learn

Spot on, he has been the player we thought we'd bought, big, strong, powerful, fast and assured. Kompany is a little hit and miss but by far the best of the other CB's at the club at the moment

I think Micah has been a bit overawed by Chelsea but he shouldn't be anymore in the future!

How can you say shocking. We have just beaten the league leaders 4-2 and you say one of our players was shocking. Yeah maybe not one of his best games but who cares. Contributed to the team and all heroes.
