He has scored 3 times this season
23 years of age so has got a while to go in his career yet
He is a centre back but can also be used as a defensive midfielder
And there is also another link here which suggests that a deal could be completed in the next few Days!
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... z0aYpqaI7y
NEW Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is set to make Younes Kaboul his first signing in a shock £8million January swoop.
City are looking to bring in the much-improved Portsmouth star during next month's transfer window.
And it is believed a switch could be completed in the next few days. A source close to the deal said: "There is firm interest from Manchester City so we shall see how it develops in the next few days."
With £24m summer signing Joleon Lescott out until mid-February, Mancini desperately needs cover at the back.
And cash-strapped South Coast outfit Pompey are ready to offload their French centre-back.
Kaboul, 23, has adapted to the rigours of the Premier League at Fratton Park after an indifferent start to his career in England with Tottenham.
He has been one of the mainstays of Pompey's starting line-up this season and has even netted three times in 20 appearances, his last goal coming in a 1-1 draw at Sunderland on December 12.
The ex-France Under-21 international can also play as a defensive midfielder and can give Mancini different options.

Pique of Barca. If we want another defensive midfielder then go for De Rossi of Roma but i am sure he can also play attacking midfielder. Mancini and co have to think bigger and outside of the box.

Would fit in with our current policy of signing defenders who are not very good at defending!

If we sign this guy, I will lose all confidence I now have in Mancini. Surely he can't rate Kaboul? He's shitter than shit!

Ah - the 'run every player linked to us down' season has started again I see.
The Telegraph states that Pompey - desperate for cash - are (among other deals) negotiating with Manchester City about the transfer of Younis Kaboul.
Personally I think this guy is obviously a young player who had a dodgy start at Spuds. However he seems to me to be getting the hang of it and last time I saw him looked half decent. Evra for example was shit when he first arrived in the Premier too.
Having said that this is just speculation, yet more bollox.
City need defenders + Pompey need to sell = Kaboul to City
Easy this journalism lark!

Certainly would be a surprise but you have to back the managers judgement although my guess would be Kidd having something to do with it. IF it's true of course and I prefer that line of thinking to the other alternative that TBH has recommended him to us so that he can keep his spot in the Pompey first team.

He is fuckin horrific. There's a reason why Spurs got rid, i.e. he's shit.
I said Mancini needs to win me over, and this won't do it.

Clearly this would be Marwood at work, and not Mancini, right?
