The Thank You Mark Hughes Thread

Postby 10.Goater_Legend » Sat Dec 19, 2009 11:53 pm

I think he put a lot of work into the job but ultimitly wasn't good enough, he brought some fantastic players to our club and was always a top pro and was an asset to the club when the media we're bashing us over Kaka aswell as many other things. I really thought he was the man for us after the start we made but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. He always handled himself very well and got some quality results like Chelsea at home this season and the performance at Shalke last year.

Thank you Leslie and good luck in the future, I will now regard you as Hughes the ex-City manager rather than Hughes the ex-Rag.

He has layed some foundations for success in the future imo.

Always always always stuck up for the club, which I loved. In stark contrast to someone like Pearce who prefered not to slate referees and the media Hughes spoke his mind and did his very best by the club. I have seen some of the most attractive football, on the floor with sharp incicive passing and a far cry from some peoples fears of turning us into Allardyce like Blackburn with an apparent kick and rush style he encouraged a quick closing down style followed by advancing the ball on the floor. I hope the next gaffer keeps this too.

You have given me something I have never seen and look forward to immensely in the shape of a cup Semi and have undoubtedy left the club in better shape than you inherited it and while some may feel that may have been easy given the amount of money we have found ourselves with these changes were for the better and needed implementing.

Thank you Mark and the backroom staff.

Andy.

im assuming he doesnt have an account on MCF.net but

Cheers hughes'y for alot of good football and for the best derby i've ever seen and some good signings. Always liked you'r interviews, even with press being idiot's you always come across as a nice guy and if it's true you new before the game then it just show's what a stand up guy you are for turning up and still getting us the win. I hope you have better luck in the future we all know a few games would have been win's without the bad luck (pen's,extra-extra time etc), apart from when you play us and when you do you'll be getting a good welcome back from me atleast

Cheer's and good luck

PS. the Welcome to Manchester poster's were a touch of genius

He had almost everything required to be our perfect manager, signed good players, was great with the media, helped to make the club more professional behind the scenes. Just on the pitch that he failed us, you know he'd make a good director of football!

I'm glad you've fucked off. You were never good enough.

Pretty much what everyone else has said.
Really did think he was starting to love the club. Shame because no one deserves to be led along thinking you have the backing of the board when clearly he didn't.

I DID ENJOY HIS DEFENDING OF THE CLUB AND I THANK HIM FOR THAT - THATS WHERE MOST OF MY ENJOYMENT AND THANKS ENDED.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Sorry Im tired missed this thread.

While I did want him replaced, I must pay tribute to the man. He is a consummate professional. I cant stop thinking about the personal message to Carl Ramsbottom and the dignity he has shown throughout the months. I wish him all the best for the future. I hope that we can post well wishes in case he looks in.

All the best Mark.

Always liked listening to his interviews. Came across as a real genuine guy who did his absolute best for the club.

Deserved to be treated better at the end and I hope he goes on to do well with his next club.

Cheers Mark.

Didn't have enough time. Sorry that your defense got you the sack. Shame players don't have any accountability.
