Can't see him taking the job without some sort of money to spend. The timing also seems to suggest shopping in January.

You do know that, after 2 years at Inter, Mancini's squad only had 5 Italians left in itand had 15 South Americans?

Chielini and De Rossi would do. The latter is not a defender, obviously, but he is a class act.
I think that having given him the job, our owners will back him to the hilt, but I don't think he'll spend big. I think he'll recognise the quality of player he has and just srengthen one or two areas.

I'd take Pato as well, not a defender either, but he is going to be HUGE.

More Cash?
I doubt he'd have taken over without the guarentee he'll have money to bring in players if he needs.
Italians?
I highly doubt it as a great criticism of Mancini was he played to little Italians nationals in the Inter team, favouring South Americans instead.
Jan SIgnings and Inter Reunions?
Jan Signings, a cert, but i wouldn't expect too many. As for Reunions, possibly Maicon for me is the only one who makes sense but we shall have to wait and see i guess.

Balotelli maybe? Mancini gave him his first chance and Balotelli doesn't seem to get on very well with Mourinho

I don't think he will make complete wholesale changes, I think defenders will be looked at and possibley a midfielder!
The squad we have is brilliant, I beleive they just need some good coaching and strong disapline especially in defence, and I think he will bring this.
I guess,
1 Full back
1 Centre back
1 Midfielder
2 Kids
not sure who though!

He is going to have to grow a lot.
As long as he doesnt bring in Brazilians like Robbie. He was was at Internazionale, the name gives away as to where players might be sourced. He might well go for fellow countrymen. We already have a good defensive midfielder, but De Rossi would be massive for us. Maybe as half Brailian and half Italian Santacroce will be on his way to shore up the defence.
