MOTD Highlights vs Bolton

Postby ant london » Sun Dec 13, 2009 9:20 am

Just watched this all again.

the build up to Micah's goal was bloody lovely

Robinho is a class act....I love watching him play.

and anyone who watches this again and think Bellamy deserved a second yellow for his "dive" really does need to seek out a mental health professional

Nice one Ant. I couldn't be bothered staying up last night so was looking for the highlights.
Shocking refereeing! And as someone has said in another thread, it was clear that no only was it a City throw for their third goal but it was a foul throw! The guy had his foot miles over the line. School boy stuff really.

Just reviewed the MOTD highlights and they only show the throw and not how the ball was played out for the throw in , so from their highlights you wouldn't know that the ref and linesman also got that decision wrong.

Edit:

Couldn't help notice some of our shocking marking and position play when defending. Quite why Barry should not see that Ireland was going to tackle for the second goal, and quite why Ireland wasn't even marking the guy closely. The first half seemed one comedy of errors as far as marking was concerned.

They showed it in the discussion afterwards, when talking about how Bellamy got his first yellow.

Ah yes, couldn't be arsed to listen to that rabble again. So now I'll have to watch again to have it indelibly stamped on my brain. I may need it when I talk to St. Peter......

Ha ha! It was a bit strange today (or yesterday if you stayed up ;-). They almost showed as much footage during the discussion as they did during the actual highlights.

The throw for the second goal is quite clearly a foul throw as well. Foot in the air and releases the ball in front of his head.

On the subject of foul throws.

Micah's throws are invariably illegal....and we all know how good Robbie's are!!

i was absolutely shocked at MOTD, i sky+ it because i wanted to hear them talk about how we were robbed by ridiculous decisions referee and linesmen alike and the whole thing reminded me why i dont watch it anymore

it started of bad enough with a woman presenting (hansen and shearer must both sit there thinking WTF how does she come before me) then after showing chelsea 3-3 they show 2 1-0's before showing our 3-3 and one of them was totts i mean how blatently biassed can you be, and then the actualhighlights themselves were appauling they showed nothing of what actually happened in the match and made it look like we struggled to stay in the game when we dominated for massive periods, they didnt show the lunging challenges from bolton that im sure against a proper ref would have atleast got a warning to calm down the whole thing made me actually mad to shouting at the tv so im never ever ever watching MOTD again until we buy the bbc and they start being fair to us

Didn't realise we hadn't scored at the Reebok since 2004 prior to yesterday, that first Bolton goal is shocking. I can't understand how the linesman, who get's paid to stick his fucking flag up when someone is offside, has failed to see that. There third goal was a City throw in aswell apperntly. The Bellamy sending off was a terrible decision also, the ref had a shocker.

Looking at the positives, we're a really hard side to beat these days and we don't lie down for anyone, even after we've gone a goal down, which is the first time I can say that about a City side since Keegans early days proberly. Tevez was a fucking beast and is getting better by the game and Slyvinho and Richards played well.

All in all we did well to get a point considering the circumstances but we should of been in a better position in the first place. I think had de Jong played yesterday we may well have got the three points.

I have to say, I think Micah played really well again yesterday

His goal was a fantastic move by the team, the movement was just exquisite

HE,S GOT TO LEARN TO HEAD THE BALL TO A TEAM MATE....TOO MANY TIMES HE HAD ENOUGH TIME TO PICK OUT A TEAM MATE BUT INSTEAD HEADED IT AS HARD AS HE COULD UPFIELD WHICH IN NEARLY MOST CASES WENT STRAIGHT TO BOLTON.

I THINK HE SHOULD WORK ON THIS.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

I think the team as a whole need to work on their heading. none of em seem to be able to nod it to a team mate.

2 things struck me watching the highlights again:

why did no city player even question the Bellemy sending off............not even Kolo, who is entitled to do so. Did they think it was a dive or just dont like Bellemy !!! would any other team have made so little fuss ?

Also what Ade's reaction when 10 man City score the third equaliser....................Hmmm............He worries me !! Maybe he was just knackered ??
