NEED SACKING - THEY ARE ABYSMAL........POSITIONING FOR THOSE GOALS WAS ABSOLUTLY DISGUSTING AND IT,S BEEN LIKE THAT ALL SEASON................ IT,S THE SAME OLD STORY AND I BLAME THE COACHES FOR THE DISGRACE WHICH IS OUR DEFENCE.
SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE AND COACHES REPLACED.............
UNFORTUNATLY THE REALITY IS UNLESS WE GET RID OF HIM THEN THE COACHES WILL CARRY ON WITH THEIR INEPT COACHING AND WE WILL HAVE TO WITNESS MORE SHIT AT THE BACK.
IM SICK OF SEEING SUCH PATHETIC DEFENDING.

i thought lescott was horrible. at both ends too. just horrible. sad to say it, but it looks likes a bad transfer and that dunne would be much better right now. he has improved a bit lescott, but he was shocking today.
i agree though carl, the defending is shambolic.

They've turned 2 previously top-class centre-backs into a pair of comedic imbeciles. How I don't know, but they sure have done it.
I'm off to slaughter a sheep, in the hope it is one of their mothers.

we really have defenders who, as a unit, shouldn't be this porous. I can't understand it. for me today it was NDJ who they missed a lot. Doesn't excuse the performance, but that was the difference.

Top class?
Lescott was carried by Jagielka and Toure has always been dodgy. Neither have ever been in the 'top class' bracket. They were simply poor signings.

Toure sure won a lot for somebody so 'dodgy' then.

THE DEFENDERS WE HAVE ARE ALL GOOD ENOUGH - THE POSITIONING AND THE HESSITATION OF MAKING A DECISION IS ...QUITE FRANKLY AMAZING............AS I STATE IN THE OP I BLAME THE COACHES.FUCK KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TELLING THEM TO DO IN DEFENCE..WHATEVER IT IS ...IT ISNT WORKING AND HASNT WORKED FOR MOST OF THE SEASON.

so we have paid near £40m for two dodgy defenders, whose fault is that?

And Djimi Traore won the Champions League.
Toure was in an excellent team and played with some very good defenders, plus had the likes of Vieira to protect him.
His pace got him out of many situations and he's only going to get slower from here on in.

Oooh so he was the only shit player in an excellent team? How convenient.
I'll think you find he was in an excellent team for a reason, cos he is quality.
Your hero Xavi is actually fucking shit btw, he just looks good cos Keita is protecting him and Iniesta creates space for him and Ibrahimovic plays in front of him.
ps - Djimi Traore didn't play over 300 times in an excellent team. Kolo of course only managed this cos the 10 other players were good but he was shit.

I didn't say he was shit, I said he's dodgy. He's not an improvement on Dunne who we shipped out for him, and the same goes for Lescott. Have either performed to the level of 'quality' for us for more than the odd game? I don't believe they have.

Lol nice attempt at a wind up. We all know Xavi is fantastic.

We had no shape at all today - we looked like we were sent out to play total football as we were all over the place with midfielders at the back and defenders in mid interchanging - we need to be set up PROPERLY - if players don´t heed instructions pull them off!

No they haven't. But neither did Dunne last year, although he's doing pretty well at Villa.
Maybe his shit form last season had something to do with our defensive coaches too?

the coaches dont coach the lads to swing and miss and jump and miss headers and how to not mark players. FFS the PLAYERS must take accountability for open play fuck ups as well as the coaching staff for set piece fuck ups also

If Mark hughes wants to remain as City Manager, he must rid himself of unexperienced ex-players. there is no room for 'nepotism' or giving your friends jobs. City were a shadow of the team that beat Chelsea last week and Adebayor is, well pants at the moment. So too Barry... I have my doubts about Toure too, but I think Lescott is making so many basic mistakes (how could he leave Klasnic alone , TWICE) that Toure is struggling to work with him, It's certainly true that Jagielka covered for Lescott at Everton. Blimey we chased the game three times and scored three great, well manoevered goals. Only to be let down by piss poor marking and defending.

People need replacing, people don't think they do. I have an opinion, but because I write it in capital letters it's more valid than yours.
We've heard this all before. A billion times.

If you don't know what they're being told, how can you assume it's wrong and blame the coaches? Do you think they're being told to take up bad positions defensively? THe Defence did look dodge today, and have hardly been comvincing all season - we're shipping goals against shite far too often, but they're not exactly used to playing with one another are they?
As for Lescott, I think he's getting better as the season goes on, I'm less convinced with Toure but have an open mind - I honestly don;tthink he's had this much defending to do in his life! I do agree that a team with Dunne in it would have conceded less, but let's not get carried away. In other words; SACKING THE COACHES WOULD BE MENTAL!

If the coaches are to blame for our defensive errors, who do we credit for all of our decent attacking play?
