Ratings City v Bolton [merged]

Postby paulmclaren » Sat Dec 12, 2009 5:05 pm

Given-7-cold if anything, but should of done better for there 3rd.
Richards-9-fantastic all round the Richards of old
Toure-8-best centre half atm.
Lesscott-7-dodgy at times and very good at others, settling in now.
Sylvinho-8-by far the best left back at city, shame he's oldish.
Wright philips-6-looked good untill knock.
Bellamy-7-none stop as usual, just needs to cut the bollox out, god i would hate to live with this twat, what a moaning cunt he is.
Kompany-6-out of sorts, looks rusty, will get better.
Barry-7-cool n composed as usual.
Ade-7in and out as per but getting involved more, well miss him in Jan for sure.
Tevez-10-my god, awesome is an understatement, left back, right sack, central midfield, everywhere, 2 goals what more do you want, absolutely fantastic player.

Subs....

Ireland-8-Stevie of old, needs to keep it like this now.
Robbie-7-looks rusty, definatly has no physical presance, hopefully will improve.
Santa clause-6-looks a bit part player imo, touched the ball maybe 4 tomes in 12 mins?

Hughes-8-good tactics all round.

Really enjoyed this game end to end everytime both teams deserved a draw i thought.

Player Ratings V Bolton Away

Postby King Kev » Sat Dec 12, 2009 5:10 pm

Given 5 - He conceded 3 goals so can't get a high score
Sylvinho 7 - He impressed me both defensively and going forward
Lescott 4 - I still don't get it
Toure 5 - Shakier than Stevens
Richards 6 - Looked a liability at times in the first half, but took his goal well and improved in the second half
Barry 3 - No need to wash his kit
SWP - Was playing well but was injured too early to give a rating to
Kompany 6 - Some good touches but should allow himself to be bullied
Bellamy 5 - Pretty invisible for most of the first half but didn't deserve to be sent off
Tevez 8 - Brilliant performance capped off with 2 goals
Adebayor 5 - Very disappointing, didn't seem interested
Ireland 7 - Very good performance from Superman, I wish we had more players with his attitude
Robinho 6 - Created a few good chances when he came on
Santa - Didn't really play long enough to get a score

Sounds about right. If Barry needs an operation then he needs to get it done now - we can't keep carrying him through games.

Adebayor is an enigma - when he wants to play he is unstoppable (see Arsenal (x2) and chelsea) but he doesn't do that consistency.

Ratings vs inbred wanderers

Postby Fidel Castro » Sat Dec 12, 2009 5:17 pm

Given - 5: Couldn't do anything about any of the goals but his kicking was wank. Part of the reason why we didn't have possesion til about the 20th minute.
Richards - 8: Best game in ages. Shame he didn't twat Elmander the shit gay Swedish cunt.
Toure - 4: Shits himself when the ball comes near him.
Lescott - 3: He was in great form so fucl knows why he reverted back to being shitter than shit. He topped it off by being shit up front as well today.
Sylvinho - 7: Shaky start and he was to blame for the offside goal. Recovered very well though, I'm impressed.
Kompany - 3: Decent first half, but he lost the plot in the second and was doing his best to let them score. ost count of how many times he tripped over the bal or just gave them the ball in our half.
Barry - 4: Sooooo slooooooow. Don't think he can be arsed tbh.
SWP - no rating: That dirty cunt Robinson!
Bellamy - 5: Worked hard as ever but no end product. Did very well to set up Micah though.
Tevez - 9: He was on fire! Only player that created anything.
Adebayor - 4: No service but didn't look arsed either.
Ireland - 7: Tries the fancy pass too often but at least he was positive and worked his bollocks off.
Robinho - 6: Not on long enough really, unlucky not to score and fantastic pass to set up Sylvinho late on, shame his compatriot fucked up the cross.
Santa Cruz - no rating: Not on long enough, but did hold the ball up better than Ade.

Thought that was a bit harsh personally.

I think i was a bit too nice to lescott tbh.
And i think all these Barry is shit stuff is way exaggerated.
I don't know why you gave him a 3?
That is too harsh.
6 maybe but 3?

Given - 6 - Could do little about the goals. Distribution was ok.
Richards - 7 - Scored a great team goal, fair play to the lad. Struggled defensively for me in the first half but was much better in the 2nd.
Lescott - 3 - After a few cracking performances he has an absolute stinker. Should of scored twice and was guilty of poor marking for their 2nd.
Toure - 5 - Needs to marshal the back four much better than that. Some timely tackles.
Sylvinho - 7 - Perhaps should of done better to block that Korean twats shot for the first goal, other than that very impressive going foward.
Barry - 5 - Still out of form and just isnt good enough for me to warrant a place in the first XI.
Kompany - 5 -Good in places but come on giving away possession so cheaply which should have led to more goals for bolton is fucking abysmal. Missed the JunkYard Dog today.
Swp - N/A - Injured early. Hope the wee man is alright for Spurs.
Bellamy - 7 - Worked hard down the left and was always an outlet and a threat. Set up Richards for the goal. Sent off unbelievable by that FUCKSTAIN of a ref.
Tev - 9 - MOTM. TIreless endeavour as always. 2 cracking goals couldn't ask for more.
Adebayor - 5 - In and out of the game far too much. Was out on the wing for periods of the match.

Subs:
Ireland - 8 - Superman came and was exceptional. Great touches and vision as always, one tremendous trackback and tackle to save a likely goal.
Robinho - 6 - Came on and in limited time showed his skills. Almost scored what would of been a brilliant winner.
Roque - NA - Not on long enough.

I didn't say he was shit!! - I actually think he can be one of our best players, but he isn't at his best at the moment and deserves a low score in my opinion.

Given - 5 - Couldn't do too much about the goals but didnt have much else to do apart from pick the ball out of the net, Distribution OK at times.
Richards - 6 - Took the goal very well and his score reflects that, looking better as a right back now but still improvement to come.
Lescott - 4 - Weak again in a very poor defensive unit. was bummed by Kevin Davies all day long...
Toure - 4 - As Lescott, KY Jelly a must! Did some good challenges but as the senior member of the CB pairing he needs to take more responsibility.
Sylvinho - 5 - Bit rusty at first, but looks good and strong - linked up well when Robson came on.
Barry - 5 - I will be kind - he must be struggling out there and he needs to get it sorted.
Kompany - 5 -Had big boots to fill and struggled as the game went on some good break up play though.
Swp - N/A - Looked his normal industrious self until he was mowed down by a twat.
Bellamy - 6 - Worked hard again as usual but doesnt look natural for him when he's sticking to the left flank, his best play was when he was central (when he layed on Richards Goal).
Tev - 9 - Agree with the MOTM. Did everything he should be doing - having to get the ball deep and scoring two crackers too! Shining light!
Adebayor - 5 - Does anyone know where he's supposed to be playing - seems to wander our wide right all the time and then there's no one in the box - get the reigns on him and get him controlled and playing in possition for fuck sake!

Subs:
Ireland - 7 - Looked really good especially when we had Robson on too - opened up thier defense and got stuck in, should have taken the ball off Cahill though.
Robinho - 6 - Should have been on much longer, worked well with Stevie and Sylv.
Roque - NA - Not on long enough, didnt really do much different.

I agree with this although I think people are giving too much praise for Sylvinho its his fault they got their first goal accident or not in your first game that's not what you do. It would have been counted offside if he didn't deflect it into the player. I give him a 6.

Given - 6 - No chance with the goals but no saves of note and dodgy kicking.

Richards - 7 - Good finish and was solid on the whole.

Toure - 4 - Aerially outmuscled and crap.

Lescott - 4 - Was better than toure in defence but is deducted points for missing 2 absolute sitters. Fucking wally.

Sylvinho - 7 - Fine in defence and attack.

Kompany - 4 - Had his boots on the wrong feet.

Barry - 4 - Unable to boss a Boton midfield like he should be doing.

SWP - Not on long

Tevez - 8 - Saved us from defeat. His second was a belter.

Adebayor - 5 - Produced nothing.

Bellemy - 5 - Was doing little of note before he went off so we didnt miss him.

Subs

Ireland - 8 - Was excellent, surprised he didnt start.

Robinho - 6 - No end product when in promising positions

Santa - Showed nothing again.

All in all the central defence and central midfield were fucking rubbish today and the 4 of them shoud be ashamed.

GIVEN 5 - Did very little to help the defence by been rooted to the goal line all match, this is his one weakness as a keeper. Could have done better with the third goal

RICHARDS 7 - Good solid performance and out muscled the wingers on numerous ocassions. Very good goal and better concentration. Still left to much room for wingers to cross though and this is still disappointing to witness.

TOURE 4 - Lost everything to Davies and didn't look up for the fight at all against all the high balls. I know have a much clearer idea why Arsenal kept losing at the Reebok all those times in the past! Poor positional discipline throughout.

LESCOTT 6 - Won headers and tackled well. Could have equalised with a free header from 3 yards but instead of glancing it he headed it over. Should have won it in the final minute but swung and missed when a poke towards the roof of the net would have been much better. Like Toure, poor positional discipline throughout.

SYLVINHO 5 - Played more as a left midfielder than a full back. Great at passing and moving but not good at pressurising or tackling. Like the centre backs his discipline was poor throughout the game.

SWP N/A - Given a poor ball by Richards and it injured him in the resulting challenge. Looked confident in the opening 10 with a couple of runs and a shot

IRELAND 7 - Great short and long range passing. Was a fault a little for their second goal however. On most occassions he was our centre back dealing with 2 on 1 situations - lucky for us Bolton can't pass!

KOMPANY 3 - Worst performance I've seen in a City shirt this year. Couldn't head, pass or tackle without fouling. Got mugged three times in the middle which should have resulted in 3 goals. He was dire and should have been taken off at half time.

BARRY 5 - Typical Barry performance - doesn't seem to do very much or involved in anything but set pieces. Should have scored from a corner when free and had time to size up a shot. LEARN TO USE YOUR RIGHT FOOT!!!!

BELLAMY 6 - Not much in the first half, looked better in the second and then sent off. Only seen it live from behind the goal but it looked like a clear foul to me. Bellamy just doesn't dive when through on goal.

TEVEZ 9 - Ran the show for us for a full 90mins. Very, very impressive both up front and in midfield. If I was Fergie, I'd sign him up you know!!

ADEBAYOR 5 - Wasn't interested and hide from his responsibilities by going wide on the wings and then just standing there. Stay in the middle and win a few headers. Looked lazy and another reason why Arsenal lose at the Reebok. Should have been taken off on the hour.

ROBINHO 7 - Looked dangerous and could of scored. Always links up very well with Ireland and Tevez. Should of beat his man more times than he did when in an one on one situation though.

RSC N/A - too little time to influence the game.

I think vince and ned need some time actually playing in the reserves as they lack of game time is costing us when we need to call upon them.

NDJ was heavily missed today, and we also missed him vs. Hull. If hes ill he may have caught this bout of swine flu so im praying we'll have him for white hart lane.

Agreed about Ned and Vince needing some game time to get the rust off. Both of them are good players, but have looked terrible in the time they've been on due to lack of games. No easy answer there really.

For those who gave Tevez less than a 9, what would he have to do to get a 10? 3 goals and several goal saving tackles? 4 goals and serve pies during injury stoppages? Just wondering. Other than a few shots blazed over, I didn't see much he did wrong today.

Also, can someone tell me why going forward Ireland and Robinho shouldn't be starting? I know they've both had some knocks and maybe that is why they haven't gotten in as much, but with both of them out there we looked the much better side, even down to 10 men.

Since the beginning of the season, I thought our best formation would be

-------NDJ-------Barry

SWP------Ireland------Robinho

------------Ade

Bring Tevez and maybe Bellamy on if needed after 60 or 70 and let them go wild. I realize it leaves us a bit weak defensively on the left, but it just causes so many problems for the other team. There is just a ton of quality out there with those players. Can always bring on Tevez and Bellamy to track back and defend once we bang in 2 or 3.

I love what Bellamy has done so far this year, but he was just in scorching form for a while there and I don't think he could keep that up. He isn't Robinho, obviously, and hopefully with a bit of rest now Rob won't be worn down for the rest of the season. He needs to play more.

Of course, it's not like we're not scoring. Need to sort the defense out ASAP. I don't see how anyone could give Lescott more than a 4 today. If Micah had that kind of game in the middle, people would be saying he should be shot. Both CB were shit, with Lescott being shit at both ends, missing a free header and a swing and miss both inside the 6.
