Based on a one-liner from our old friend the Sun, the wires are getting fired up with 'City leading the chase for Ignazio Abate' stories. Seems to be a left back or left midfielder on Spanish sites, or a right sided player on English language sites. No side is given by the Sun.

If he's a left-sider it would fit into the 'Bridge is out so who can we link City with?' scenario.

Any Italy-watchers tell us which side he plays on and whether he's any good?? We need full backs so the papers may get one right one day!

Right side, but not really a full back, he gives his best further up the flank, at least that is where I've seen him play best but I might be mistaken. Quick, has a good cross, defensively he's not the best, but he's also very young. Anyway he's a Milan player, so maybe Renato can be of more assistance on that.

Right mid we dont need at the moment. Just another agent angling for a new contract, now that his boy has got a run in the Milan team, after travelling around Italy for a few years then!!
