Training + Monday 7/12

So today was the day that myself and Bluemoon's NMT were invited inside to chat about "things" and I will use Neil's usuall quality report on what happened.
Turned up for training about 10.30 thought we might see most of the players today, there are a few walking wounded from Saturday so the session included, Stevie Ireland, Petrov, Vinnie, Zab, Garrido, Silvinho, Johnno, RSC and Nedum.
The usual warming up and stretching was followed by some 9x9 square work, this is to improve the control and touch in tight areas, some of that work was really impressive, onto shooting practice and impressive finishing by Benjani and RSC with Zabaleta showing how good he is with both feet.
Only a short session today as the main group were inside, most of the lads will be back out tomorrow.
DH and I were invited into a meeting with Vicky Kloss with regards to our access and viewing at Carrington, this had been arranged by the club after reading both our site and DH's.
Vicky explained the reasoning behind the changes to Carrington and to be fair both DH and I fully endorse the changes, we were kindly given a view of inside Carrington and to be honest I was blown away with the place.
Do you know when you see things on the OS where there are clips of what goes on inside, we are also told about what's been spent and how the equipment is top class, being honest we have to be the luckiest supporters in the world, the owners have given the support both financially and personnel wise where we will succeed, no doubt about it!
The players have a work environment that will not be surpassed anywhere in the world, yes the building isn't purpose built for it's current use, but what they have done to what they have is amazing, we were shown the gym areas and physio rooms, the rehab area and Doctors room has all the latest equipment and you can see how they can get players back sooner than forecasted.
Vicky and the club are working on a solution to the "Iron Curtain" and who knows how that will turn out, but to see Carrington from the inside and see the changes and the equipment the players have been given to achieve the success we all want, it's not a case of if, just a case of when.
Unbelievable!
NMT
No doubt the club are not looking to cut off our access and it's just a question of sorting out something sensible which allows us to watch what goes on ( even if not on the tactics day before a match) and do some kind of report back as we already do. Vicky is a true blue and keen to maintain and even enhance the links with the fans already established.
Bumped into a few during the tour and congratulated Kev Hitchcock for his part in the penalty save( as per Shay anyway). Absolute quality to get inside and get a guided tour.
