Missed Match Of The Day

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Missed Match Of The Day

Postby Nickyboy » Mon Dec 07, 2009 11:52 am

Due to being out, was one I really wanted to see after the great performance, atmoshere and day in general (and the fact the missed pen was at the opposite end to my seat).

For some reason can't find it on the BBC iPlayer thingy - anyone know anywhere else I can watch it online?

Also how did they sum up our win - because from where I was sat we outplayed them and deserved evey inch of our victory!

Both Hansen and Shearer said it was a fantastic game of football to watch but they mostly concentrated on the ref's key decisions in the analysis rather than the players.

Thought they might do a piece on NDJ but no chance.

They are not allowed to put it in the iPlayer due to rights or something.

usual MOTD style post match analysis

Very high level overview of the game, quick chat about the ref, quick chat about our opposition followed by a quick change of subject by Linaker who seemingly can't discuss city

They show some great editing skills by making it seem that Chelsea were 'unlucky' to have been beaten...

Looked a completly diferent game than I saw in Eastlands ... even when we were 0-1 down we were battering them ... wouldnt have guesed it on MOTD ..

Only ever watch it to see the goals and prefare MOTD2 to be fair.

Totally agree, they actually talked about Chelsea's missed chances yet failed to mention that we had far mopre missed chances, they completely ignored the fact that we had the better stats;

Possession
Man City 53% Chelsea 47%
Attempts on target
Man City 8 Chelsea 6
Attempts off target
Man City 5 Chelsea 4
Corners
Man City 9 Chelsea 6
Fouls
Man City 12 Chelsea 17
Yellow Cards
Man City 1 Chelsea 6

They had far more bookings and fouls than us , so that makes them superior in that element of the stats

That shows they had some brown trouser time when they realised they were playing well and being outplayed so instead of resorting to class they resorted to cheating!!

I just watch the highlights on MOTD now and don't bother listening to the pundits. Apart from Lee Dixon there is never any praise for City. They seem to just focus on the inadequecies of the opposition rather than praise the blues for their attacking, defending etc.
