http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5719206,00.htmlSkysports.com understands Bolton are lining up a January raid on Manchester City for striker Benjani Mwaruwari.
Bolton are desperate to add to their attacking options when the transfer window reopens in the New Year and have earmarked Benjani as the player to fire them to safety.
The Zimbabwe international has a wealth of Premier League experience having moved to England in 2006 when he joined Portsmouth from Auxerre.
Benjani has fallen down Mark Hughes' pecking order following an influx of new strikers over the summer with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez and Roque Santa Cruz barring his path to regular football.
It is thought City could be ready to accept a cut price £1.5million fee for Benjani, with Wigan and West Ham also monitoring the situation.
Benjani may be an attractive proposition for a number of Premier League clubs as he will be available for the remainder of the season, with Zimbabwe having failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations.
He has recently recovered from injury and is expected to be in City's squad to play Hull City at the weekend.

Dunno, Bolton will be inconsolable when they find out he doesn't head the ball, in fact doesn't jump for the ball. It'll destroy their long ball tactic!

It won't work, just like every other plot to remove a Zimbabwean in the last thirty years.

He's nowhere near as poor as some people like to make out. Aside from his injury-proneness he's scored a few useful goals for us (the derby aside, Fulham away and Twente at home last year spring to mind). He's not good enough for where we're going but I'd say he'd definitely do a job for a team in the lower reaches of the division if he can stay fit. If he goes, he goes with my best wishes.

This is all if they can find his agent, who disappeared on deadline day.
Teletext phrases like:
'Bolton in Benjani swoop'
'...hope to prise Benjani away.....'
'......cut price 1.5 million'
'..City to lose ace to Bolton...'
are flying about the news wires.
Alioune - he is piss poor.

Too old for NotloBs work ethic but would be glad to get rid of him because in all honesty he has no chance of breaking into the side with Bellamy, Santa, Robinho, Ade, Tevez all ahead of him.
