Ángel Di María Rumour Picking Up Steam

In the news again this morning(check bollox thread I ain't stealing chinners thunder) and Chelsea don't seem interested at the 36 million price tag. If the rumours are true that Robson doesn't wanna be here and we can get our money back for him he would be a perfect replacement and this seems to be the strongest rumour all season. I honestly think Hughes is looking for a Robson replacement and this chap fits the bill nicely as he's banging them in for Benfica right now.

36 million for an unproven winger (although talented)... im not saying no but that is an outrageous fee.

For four months or so he's looked like one of the brightest talents in Europe. Still, you could say that of Stevie last season. Di Maria destroyed Everton a few times and undoubtedly has the potential but he is very much unproven.

Robinho's here and Robinho's an established world class talent. No deal for me.

Yep count me in, what we're missing in attack at the moment is a spark of genius, someone who can create goals for others out of nothing, we should be out of sight against the lesser teams before they have chance to get at our still wobbling defence. That's young Robson and the sooner he's fit the better. Buy Angel as backup, we can afford it!

Weve missed Robbie more than people dare believe.

Same here. Also what StrikeAnywhere said - the price is outrageous. And I am worried that it might have an effect on the young lad.

Robbie will be leaving us so it is very wise that the management line up a replacement, this kid looks like he is a very very good player. Everyone would only slag off Hughes if Robbie spat his dummy out and left and we had no replacement for him. Good management imo and fuck the price tag, we're billionaires now.

Doubt it will end up as 36, I can see us losing Robbie and picking Angel up for a nett of nothing.

Is he an Argie?

I quite like the cut of the Argentinian jib. I like their fight vis a vis the Brazilians

Howzaboutthat for a bit of national stereotyping?! (but I'd rather just retain Robson de Souza to be honest)

im in the robbie crowd too my god how we have missed him. Should he go, i havent seen enough of this guy to comment, seems a lot of money but its not my money, doesnt fall in to the hughes category ie no prem experience and south american, will hughes really sign this guy? will it also signal end of petrov, currently 3 people fighting for one spot.

I want him, and keep Robson.

Robbie should be in Tevez's spot.

Piece of piss this management game.

Robinho isn't a winger though matey, he can play left side of a front 3 effectively but his game isn't taking on wingers and crossing, he likes to do whatever the fuck he wants (which is fine by me) but in a 442 it needs to be played a little differently to how Robbie does. Thats why I'd like us to Sign our Angel for left wing, and have Robbie up with Ade

----------------------Ade
----------Robbie

Angel-----Barry--------Ireland-----SWP

Bridge---Lescott-------Toure-------Zabba

------------------Given

or even

Angel----------Ade---------Robbie

---------Barry------Ireland

--------------De Jong

------------------Given

This has all the hallmarks of a made-up story.

Benfica interested in Simao. How will they get the money? Sell Di Maria to Chelski. Wait, City have more money so "Chelski baulk at price, sell him to City"

Not really a Les-style signing, but maybe.

On Robson I agree we have missed him. I too would like him in the Tevez position, with Tevez right or left.
But the Robson rumours are really gaining steam, for whatever reason.

My feeling is that Robson will be here until next summer unless someone dangles a big carrot in front of City's face in January in the form of a top player.
