After watching that Spurs game you can't help but wonder why couldn't they have defended like that against us? There was no closing down, no tackling, no marking, absolutely shite clearances. When we played then they were all over us, closing down in seconds and never giving a minutes peace.
Light travels faster than sound.
Thats why some people appear bright until they open their mouth.

DISCLAIMER- My views are mine alone, and probably rubbish anyway.

Manchester City play in a more scruffy way if you get me? We like knocking it around slowly and could say at times we are impatient! And when we get impatient we decide to go route 1 to Ade who 8 out of 10 will win it but sometimes we out it up to swp!! Who is a small man and wont have a chance in the air most of the time.

If you look at Arsenal for example. They are a joy to watch at times!! There movement is quality and there procission and style of passing is brilliant. They pass and move! They dont give the defenders time to close them down. Arsenal have 3 touch maximum most of the time and then pass the ball. They are also very creative and are not impatient. They play a waiting game but at the same time they knock it around looking for an openning and if that doesnt work! They start again!!

Wigan found it hard against tottenham on sunday because Tottenham were not giving them a chance to close them down. They kept on knocking it about, Switching flanks, Lobbing the ball over the defensive line so lennon can use his pace and exploit there defence! And it worked!! They were great to watch on Sunday.

So to answer your question. Passing quickly and being creative and patient is the key to success in football. And obviously other things too. We do not have enough patience and we take to much time on the ball! That has to change!

That's a pretty fair summation...
Something that really pisses me off is when we have the ball near the opposing area and we gradually pass it backwards, occasionally to Given who then lumps it upfield into the area we started from...but we have lost possession...It defies common sense.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Not really accurate though, Tevez is tiny too and he won more than he lost on the weekend, I though Ade was doubled up on all the time and got poor result when a long ball came to him. (And how many times did he misjudge the ball and it sail over his head)

What Spurs have is an understanding built up over time. Defoe and Crouch have played together for England and Portsmouth over the last few years so they know each other inside out. Whereas at City we have Adebayor, Tevez, Santa Cruz and Bellamy, none of whom have ever played together before. When we find a working partnership, which can only develop with time, it will make a world of difference because we'll create- and take- even more chances than we do at the moment and there won't be that uncertainly we see at the moment.

Excuse the cliché but it really is a work in progress. When we've clicked, I wouldn't put it past us dicking someone 8 or 9 nil.
