Darius Vassell turfed out of his temporary accommodation after Turkish club fail to pay the bill

Darius Vassell is desperate to quit Turkish side Ankaragucu after being turfed out of his temporary accommodation because the club could not afford to pay.

The 29-year-old former Manchester City striker only left the Premier League for Turkey in the summer. But "cash-flow problems" at Ankaragucu have resulted in him being paid late, if at all.

Matters came to a head recently when Vassell was evicted from the hotel the club had been putting him in because they had failed to pay the bill.

When the astonished ex-England striker tried to raise someone to sort things out he struggled to contact anyone on the club's board.

Several championship sides and "at least one Premier League side" have expressed an interest in Vassell.

But his bid to leave Turkey has been complicated by the fact that Ankaragucu cannot afford to pay up his contract and so any club wanting him will have to pay a fee, with the club thought to want around £2million.

Saw this on Sky and then they showed him being interviewed outside the hotel late at night after being turfed out by the manager. He was asked what had happened and said something like "dunno, I don't speak the language"

Genuinely felt sorry for him, it appears the club has recently changed owners which may explain the confusion but it doesn't look good over there for him

Think the odds on the last option will be shortening by the day, wouldn't be surprised at all

I've read this three times thinking that it is a pun that is going over my head

I think I've come to the conclusion that it is a vanilla comment though

Like all of us he probably had his doubts about the move, as it turns out it may have been a good idea to have no ties and a quick exit plan

Not necessarily

The erstwhile Swede Svennis was in "temporary accomodation" (aka the Radisson on Peter Street) for the whole of his tenure at City

Lazy househunting-shy pykey Scandinavian cunt

A lot of footballers/managers live in 'temporary' accomodation, hotels and the like. Sven did here. Especially moving to a small club in Turkey, that's the best thing to do. In a hotel, you'll be surrounded by English speakers, thus making like a lot less complicated (theroetically, at least).

I bet he daren't say publicly that he wants to move, the fans will lynch him, they're a bit boistrous at that club.

What I don't get is why he got kicked out of the hotel - even if the club hadn't been paying the bill then surely he's got enough to stay there for a bit?!

A poor mans Craig Bellamy

He will easily be able to get a Premiership side if he wanted, I am sure the likes of Burnley, Wigan, Birmingham, Bolton, Hull, Pompey could do with a player like him, I just hope if he does come back to the Prem that he never plays against City.
