Hey Ive had no problems with mark hughes since he joined , Some signings i dissagreed with and some i was very happy with. But all in all ive not had much to go mental for like some on here keep doing. When he first signed i was like " who" and very confused as it was a strange appointment after a big name like Sven. But i thought " wait a minute he wa a rag ? " But then thought well how many rags over the years have come to and from both clubs , so i thought what the heck ill give him a shot.
Now last season was the settling in period for him and we could all see the improvements he was making to a club as a whole with the money from the sheikh of course. This season with all the new players its there settling in period. So top 4 i think we should aim for but top 6 would still be a great finish. Im not sure but some of you appear to be taken in by the " MAN CITY MUST WIN THE LEAGUE" lol
We are a mid table side trying to become a world class side, we are 2 wins from second in the league? How is it all doom and gloom? you really think we are going to win every game. Yeah i was well pissed off after today but i didnt start going hysterical like a mong saying "sack the manager".
We have only played 11 games and only lost 1 , yeah its frustrating but we have a team that when they get the rub of the green and start to really " CLICK" they could go on a 5 or 6 unbeaten run maybe more. I really think hughes is struggling to find the right partnership in the midfield as he has so many good options. Dropping ireland to the bench is pure stupid and also playing de jong and barry together is pure stupid.
The thing that i will call hughes for is the how he appears to dislike flair players , His signings have not been stars or magicians. They have been grafters who run there arses off and play the simple ball allllll the time. You can tell when ireland plays he unlocks defences. You can tell when robinho plays the opposition defence is shit scared. I feel he is trying to Build a team similiar to chelsea Strong powerful but often quite boring.
That is the only critism i will lay on mark hughes.
I think by the end of the season manchester city will be in 4th or 3rd in the league and thats with mark hughes.............

Personally mate, I don't give a shit about his past at utd, the only way I will judge him is on what I see on matchday and given that he has had a kings ransom to use as a transfer kitty I would expect to be beating teams who haven't got a fraction of the kind of resources we have.
Personally I question his ability to enthuse the players at his disposal into a winning unit who work for a common cause of taking our club forward to challenge the established top performers year in year out.
Tactically he or his advisors/coaches are naive and consistantly make the wrong decisions at key times.
Theres no question we have talented players that Hughes has aquired but its a different thing alltogether to mould them into a cohesive unit!
I don't think he posesses these skills and he has no experience of managing a top quality squad of players and consistantly getting the best out of them!
Just my opinion !

Hughes cant do that no manager in the world can do that. it's down to the players becoming friends and creating a bond with each other that they will fight for each other i know its a little over the top but " die " for each other on that pitch. Thats why " time " is needed for these players to become friends , fall out with each other and become stronger as a unit together. Hughes has nothing to do with that. Whether or not these players with the amount of money there on would give there life on the pitch for another teammate is questionable.
Already on one
Sorry i meant 6 or 7
wins on the row. I know we are capable of it just give it time.
Also anyone that has played football at any level know that when they get a few new players in , its wierd as they make diffrent runs , expect you to pass when you dont. So give them time to gel and become a team rather than breaking the club up every 5 minutes because we are not getting instant success. I really can see it sometimes that when the players seem to all " click " together we look devestating. But it wont come all brilliant in one season. We have seen improvements already all the games we drew last season we lost , except burnley. So its coming dont lose faith so soon guys...

Yes - me too - but the PL needs player like NDJ in your team - flair is good - but you need a solid platform first and foremost

We have lost 1 game, which is fine, we nearly drew it too.
What is really hurting people at the moment is the way we fucked up against Fulham, Burnley, and should really really be beating Brum or/and Wigan. That goes for any season, be it a Pearce struggley season or a Sven fall apart season.
This season do you actually realise the level of quality we have in your squad? The above games should be like Brazil playing Wales.
The defence is shocking, and it has been all season, even when we were winning, teams playing us were getting glorious chances. Remember the Blackburn game?? On paper it looks good, but the match itself was a very very lucky result.
I think other managers have quickly realised where to hurt us,
Last season it was mostly attack Richards down our right, this season its play a ball between Bridge ( if he is there ) and Lescott ( who will point and shout at someone in the midfield to do his job)
Yea its ok to ask for back up and demand to know where the cover is from Stevie or Barry, but at the end of the day Mr Lescott you are the CB and your spacial awareness and decision making are on a par with Micahs. For their 3rd yesterday it was clear the Stevie was too far behind play to be able to put the attacker under and pressure, but Lescott fucking pointed and flapped abit while jogging back, by passed him and before he knew where he was, he had been done and cost us 2 points we HAD to get today.
Aaaaaaaaargh rant

Mate, you were doing so well with your post until you wrote that.
I would have expected us to take more than 5 points from the latest run of fixtures even under Pearce, so my expectations have got fuck all to do with money or where we should be in the league. We are now seeing the decline once opposition managers have worked out how to play Hughes' teams, exactly the same as happened at the same stage of last season.
We were all quite rightly delighted with how the season started, but would it not be right to reasonably expect to beat Burnley at home, or fulham especially from being 2.0 up. If we had, I could live with the draws away from home.

Yes i question his ability as well, with the resources at our disposal we need a winner for a manager we don't have one at the moment

the moment a big name manager is available, hughes is gone.
fine by me, i think he's a tosser. this team is just not very good, i really cannot see where all this 'we'll fin ish 4th, 3rd, 5th' nonsense comes from. what i saw from the east stand yesterday was a very poor performance and a very average side, utterly predictable but with a horrendous defence. hughes is the manager and the buck stops with him.
mind you, who'd have thought that tevez would be this shit? he has been rank.
