How did he do? I hope he had a fairly effortless game against shitty opposition, any sign that he might challenge Bridge?

Looked a bit rusty at the start of the game, good touch but misplaced a couple of passes and didn't really seem to have much of an understanding with ireland in front of him.

However, as the game went on he improved dramatically, didn't try anything special but looked composed, in control and his passes found the target.

By the end of the game he looked a class act and looked very comfortable.

He didn't get forward as much as Bridge would have done, but didn't make the same mistakes either.

In summary, although you can't judge him on one game against mediocre opponents, I would not be at all concerned if Bridge got injured and we had to give him an extended run in the team. I didn't see anything that would make me rave or worry.

The lad is a class act. He has experience at the top level, including Prem experience, obviously keps himself in top condition and was screaming at his colleagues last night even when we were 5-1 up.

Having seen him last night I certainly feel happier knowing that he can comfortably cover any injury to Bridge, rather than worrying that Garrido could be in for a few games.

Agreed he is better than Garrido and that's enough for me. Though I doubt he will replace bridge any-time soon :p.

Totally agree, but he's good enough for cover.

he was a solid defender i dont like the full backs at the other end of the pitch, we have other players who can hurt the opposition. good cover for bridge this season.

He was notably less mobile than Bridge, and I was not that impressed. Was back to the old days ofa left back who rarely crosses the half-way line

The obvious point has to be made that he was playing against weak opposition. Bit worried to read in the Evening news that Bridge has an on going knee problem that flares up. Hopefully City can manage this.

I wouldnt read too much into his lack of attacking runs - he was making sure he got the basics right since he hasnt had a match for ages.

To me, it looked like an old head doing a solid job....Nowt fancy...no headlines...keeping it simple but effective.

Sorry but how is this a bad thing?? I for one don't like the fact that sometimes our players gets caught out as they are at the other side of the pitch our wingers are there for a reason we don't need 2 people doing the job. Especially from one of them who is supposed to be defending. Glen Johnson (best example I could think of off the top of my head and one of the main reasons the red scouse are doing so terrible this season) is the worst for this I constantly see him caught out at the wrong side of the pitch and wingers run down his side of the pitch as he's at the opposite side of the pitch. Bridge is a class act as he's always back in time but I think its a bloody dangerous idea one that's not needed against Scunthorpe.
