That flamin Beach Ball

Yes the jokes have been quite funny but I'm sick of hearing how badly done to Liverpool are, we lost a goal in similar circumstances (whilst our dressing room was being ransacked) and the football world thought it was hilarious, Liverpool lose a goal and the press go on a campaign against refereeing mistakes. Liverpool used to be my joint second favourite team as a lad (along with Wolves, which I think was purely down to the shirt colour) but I've had a bit of a downer on them ever since they got the rule book rewritten to allow them to defend the CL.

Out of interest was the the foreign object clause brought in after/because of the Sheff Utd incident?

I know exactly what you mean mate, it makes me puke the way they are hard done to, tossers! I dont know about the rule, it must have because I am sure there was nothing about it when we had our misfortune.

The rule was before our ballongate incident. That goal should have been disallowed as well. There is also a rule that the game must be stopped if there are 2 balls on the pitch at the same time, as far as I am aware they do not have to both be official balls, so the liverpool gane should never have started as the beach ball was on before it even kicked off. Personaly I feel that as they had numerous chances to remove the ball, then it's tough luck. Goalkeepers should ensure their area is kept clear of distractions.

The beachball was removed to the inside the goal. It blew out back onto the pitch. The fault of the keeper for not securing it the 1st time.

He'd be hopeless with his kids on the beach wouldn't he? Everyone knows you put a beachball in a carrier bag and put one of your trainers on the handles. Tsk

Got a letter on ITV 479 teletext just about this last week, about how everyone laughed when it happened to us, and no-one mentioned foreign objects, bodies, aliens etc. We were poor that day and Liverpool were at Sunderland.
