Benfica 4-0 Everton, and Benfica are battering them, they just hit the bar as as well.

Young Gosling has had his arse well and truly spanked tonight and the everton fans have started leaving the stadium after 52 minutes!! Crazy thing to do when you are away in Europe. Distin has been asleep as well... also Jo looks shite.

It's Lescotts fault, now get him training on his own, and I mean on his own ;-)

finished 5-0, Saviola, Cardozo and Di Maria made Everton look like a pub team. They looked completely useless and were lucky to get away with just the 5 goals. Jo and Fellaini were about as useful as a couple of book ends. The good thing is, they will probably go through in second place as the other teams around them are also crap.

They miss Arteta so much, lets hope his recovery hits a snag ;-)

Werder just played 2-2 at Austria Vienna after a 2-0 lead (both goals Pizzaro).
We got both goals in the last 15 Min., so more a feeling of loosing two points for me but this one is the new UEFA Cup, you don“t have to lose away and you are in the next round.......

Bring back the K.O rounds!

Everton were outplayed but it's fair to say the amount of players and the quality they were missing was always going to have an impact especially against a good side like Benfica.

Neill and Heitinga - ineligible

Osman, Arteta, Jagielka, Anichebe, Vaughan, Pienaar, Yobo, Baines, Neville all injured - an entire XI who would be in their 18man matchday squad when all fit and available

So when you put it into that context the defeat is no surprise.

Not the best they've got, but still not a 5-0 drubbing squad. Afterall, Jo's in there ain't he ;-)

Everton
24 Howard
02 Hibbert
15 Distin
31 Coleman
07 Bilyaletdinov (Saha 60 yellow card)
17 Cahill
19 Goslingyellow card
25 Fellaini
26 Rodwell
11 Jo
22 Yakubu (Baxter 71)

I think that playing a near 2nd team away in Europe is disgusting. All those fans who have laid out money to be short changed.
If Everton consider themselves to be a peoples club, they should refund their travelling fans.

I wonder if Hughes/MCFC would be getting the same non coverage for 0-5 and 6,000 fans pissed off.

Golum can do no wrong + for some unfathomable reason the media business seems to be infected with Everton fans.

That's a little unfair on him. When you look at Moyes record with the resources available to him, he has worked miracles at Everton, keeping them in and around the top 6 for the majority of the time. And there aren't too many reserves in that team fielded, I think Seamus Coleman at fullback is promoted youth player, but the rest of them are senior players in there because everyone else is injured. I must admit the result really surprised me. In the past couple of years, I thought with signings like Fellaini and Bilyaletnidov they might actually start to develop some depth, but then more and more injuries have just destroyed their squad!
