I know its the sun but after the watches comment they wrote about us and other stories in the past wouldent it be foolish for them to write a crap story again!!
I would love to see Ribery at Eastlands. He is a terrific worker, Great crosser and finisher and reads the game well.
But it would have to be at the expense of Robinho wouldent it??

The link isnt working so here is the page of it-
MANCHESTER CITY will go all out for Franck Ribery in January even if they must double the British transfer record.
City hold the record with the £32.5million they paid Real Madrid for Robinho.
But it could take up to £65m to get French winger Ribery from Bayern Munich - and City are ready to go for it.
Munich are desperate to keep Ribery.
If successful the move would take City's spending under Mark Hughes to £315m in 20 months.
Unsettled Ribery has criticised Bayern coach Louis van Gaal.
He said: "There is no feeling between us."

Would be a great addition, but I cannot see Real Madrid allowing this one to happen.
And yes I do believe that if we were successful, it would have to be at the expense of Robinho.

Well If there was a bidding war between City and Madrid, Ribery would have to think what is best for his future. Him going to Madrid would mean not necessarily not getting a starting place every week compared to at city when he would argualy be one of our key players and could do a lot for us and help make us become the best team in the world.
And OBVIOUSLY he will be interested in the money to. I dont care what player says they done come for money. Obviously Money will have a say in it.

Strange isn't it, that we get the press reporting that Robbie's off to Barca without a shred of evidence and then that Ribery's coming to us, even though we are all well aware of Real's proposed deal.
Seems that 'Journalistic Interpretation' of NO facts whatsoever, is running wild!!!

You are right mate. Journalists write anything just to cause shit and get paid but for all we know something special could be happening behind closed doors and we wouldent know anything about it till January.
You just never know mate.

Not sure Madrid have any money to spend on Ribery. Imo he'd be a better signing for Barca than Robbie though.

40 Million hey. Yes that sounds a fair price for Ribery but i doubt Bayern will be happy about that!! I reckon they will be looking for about 50 Million.

40m if no other club goes above that he is ours after all he wants out of Bayern and the may need the money you can do alot with 40m i know you can do more with 50m if we start at 30m and see how it goes

We can offer them the money but the final question is: WOULD HE LEAVE?
Hughes would have to do his best ever and try and sell Ribery the project that we (City) are trying to do. It would make things even better though if we are in top 4 come January!!

Interesting to read this, shows that it ain't really about our Robby to Barca and Ribery to us!
Barcelona sporting director Txiki Begiristain believes Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will end up at the Nou Camp one day and has also hinted the European champions could make a move for Manchester City forward Robinho.
Fabregas, a Barca youth-team product, has long been linked with a return to the Catalan giants even though the player and his club have always maintained he is committed to seeing out his long-term contract.
But Begiristain said of the 22-year-old to Spanish daily Sport: "He is a player with the Barca profile. He was born here, breathing football. One day, he will end up playing at the Nou Camp, I'm sure."
Barca are expected to bolster their squad in January with Seydou Keita and Yaya Toure likely to be away on African Nations Cup duty.
Brazil forward Robinho looks to be another player on Barca's radar, with Begiristain saying: "He's a very interesting player and can play the Champions League."
A move for Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery could also be resurrected.
"We have a great relationship with Bayern Munich and eventually we told them we were interested in signing Ribery," Begiristain said of the summer attempts to sign the 26-year-old France international.
"Twice we have offered money for him and both times we were told he was not for sale. And it is true, because they said the same thing to Chelsea and Real Madrid.
"If Bayern Munich puts Ribery on the market, we'll know first. Another thing is the price, of course."
Begiristain insists, however, that treble-winning coach Pep Guardiola has not been overly demanding regarding players he wants to see brought in.
"I must say that Pep has never complained or pressured us," he added.
"He knows how the football transfer market is and sometimes it is impossible to sign any player you want in spite of the efforts you make."

Ribery is rumoured, like many before him, to be unhappy with Van Gaal. Barca wont have that sort of Ribery money after their Ibrahimovic adventure, and more likely to go for Robinho. Signing Ribery may make us more inclined to sell Robinho at the same time. Personally I think our owners' future sights for strikers and midfielders will be way above the likes of Yaya, especially if we're in with a good shout by Xmas.
But I dont think Bayern need the money particularly. Anyone know the German game?

They don't need the money no BUT Bayern, just like all German teams know a good deal when they see one. Every player in German Bundesleague has a price. It all depends whether anyone is willing to meet it.
I doubt Ribery would want to join us as he has been banging on about Spain for as long as I can remember and only moved to Bayern because no big Spanish club came in for him.
