Toffees boss sniffing out Fanni deal

Everton manager David Moyes is reportedly interested in a move for highly-rated Stade Rennes defender Rod Fanni in the January transfer window.

The Toffees boss has sent a number of Scouts to keep tabs on the France international, who plays at right back, according to the French press.

Fanni's contract with Rennes expires in 2011 and Moyes could be tempted to make an offer in a bid to bolster his defence.

"I am not aware of any club interested in me," Fanni told Skysports.com.

"I've been told Everton is looking at me, but nothing official so I can't comment, I am here at Rennes, so let's see."

Everton boss Moyes is also rumoured to be keeping an eye on Fanni's Rennes team-mates Kader Mangane and Asamoah Gyan.

I seriously wouldn't sign him even if he was dead good, just in order to avoid the constant piss taking. The English PL is no place for such comedy-named players. He'd wonder why he was getting such stick everywhere & want to leave.
