How Was De Jong Tonight?

For me that performance out-Makalele'd Makalele and is the game when he, for me,- and hopefully you, - truly came of age

All right some people might say the jury is still out, and wait for him to prove himself against 'the top teams', but it was his awareness, and at how he closed down space,....and made the best use of space, that made him my Man of the Match.

Yes Tevez, Bellamy, Petrov will grab the headlines,....and the goals,.....but my man Nige was there in the engine room,.....stoking the furnace.
Keeping the home fires burning.

Can't wait for the Villa game!

Does this really need yet another thread?

NQDP has been pretty clear after the game and unequivocal in his praise. Making a thread about him is just trying to start a shit-fight.

it wasn't clear from the last page of his old thread.

And yes, he does deserve a NEW thread, as does a player who makes a particularly outstanding contribution in a game
