I know its early doors, but based on what you've seen?
Let's not fool ourselves, its not gonna be United or Chelsea.
So Liverpool or Arsenal lads...

Like I said in another thread, Liverpool have only played two decent teams, only one that finished in the top six and they have lost to both, barely beating an out of form West Ham.
Arsenal barely deserved to lose to us and should never have lost to United.
So its a fifth place finish for Liverpool for me.
(I'll review this every quarter of the season)

Not 100% convinced we'll get top 4 this yr. I do think we're in the pack now though and if either were to drop it would be Arsenal for me. Liverpool were very close to the title last season and Gerrard and Torres will get them points time and time again. Arsenal have been getting worse for a few seasons now and keep selling good players and replacing them with kids. They will always look good and feel unlucky, but that's what happens to good sides with little experience.

I don't believe that Filth are safe from dropping out of the top 4.
Liverpool's fringe players looked pretty poor v Leeds...so Scouse for me.

The season is a marathon and there is a long way to go and a lot will depend on how the top four do in the CL, Carling and FA Cups. How many games will their load be?
For me, this is the most important factor. All the top four have great teams but Arsenal, the rags and Liverpool don't seem to have great squads. The more they play, the more they will suffer.
The rags are heavily dependant on Rooney and I think that the load may take its toll later in the season.
The Scousers have yet to answer the Alonso p[roblem and i think they will suffer too.
Arsenal are heavily dependant on their kids coming through and I think they are fragile.
Chelsea have the resources and should do it.
I don't discount a run from Spurs as the season develops, nor do I discount Villa mounting a challenge.
The door is wide open for City....Ideally, I would like to see Spurs in there with us and both the rags and Arsenal failing.

I think we'll challenge for a place in top 4 but not convinced we'll get it. I do think that the SKY 4 will be broken this season though. Liverpool will be alright, Arsenal are a different story - i think it'll be very tight between them, us, Spurs, Aston Villa and even maybe Everton who have got a good squad and will be even stronger when Arteta and Jagielka return

Arsenal for me although the scouse have had a bad start I would never bet against them and the gooners I doubt can keep up their level of play as they lack enough depth.

Exact opposite for me. I think arsenal could recover quite easily from missing CL for a couple of seasons. IMO, this would be devastating for Scousers, as the Yanks would refuse to invest, causing massive internal strife, culminating in the departure of Rafa and half the squad. My money's on Arse to go this season, but come back stronger than ever, and possibly take the Prem next year (if we don't, of course!).

I agree if the scouse fall out of top 4 the yanks will not invest in any more players and they will fall apart unless they get into it the season after OR knowing them buggers there gonna win Europe again and get in by default.

Arsenal are used to unearthing cheap gems and operating under an extremely tight budget in comparrison to Liverpool...
That will be the big difference if it comes close IMO.

Uuuuurgh you dirty old man??!???!
If those bastards get in the top 4 with us it would talk some of the pleasurable sheen off it for me....I'd like them fucks to be relegated

Sorry if that upset your weekend Ant...I know how sensitive you are...:-)
Not particularly arsed whether it's Spurs or even Pompey TBH, but I don't think that the top four is as set in stone this season, as it has been recently.
With the financial problems of the rags, L'Pool and Arsenal, I can see the possibility of any of them (two of them...or even all three of them) dropping out. We are certainly on the case as are Spurs and I would hope that even Villa could creep in too.
I want the big four to feel the full weight of their policies of "success by creating debt" and to suffer the backlash of "deby creating failure."
Should they big four fail....their financial Worlds could come tumbling down...Hopefully.
I live in hope.

On account that the they didnt strengthen their squads very much in the transfer window I think this is a fantastic chance for us to break into the top four. As the season progresses and the champs league takes its toll they will feel the strain. We can strengthen in January. If we are sitting in the top four by then we can grab any players the scum etc. will try to buy and we get stronger and they dont.

All of the top 4 are still excellent sides.
Arsenel over the last few years have shown the least consistancy. They are the most at risk.
But we will have to show winning consistancy like we have never shown in my lifetime to finish above them after 38 games.
