The Press Association have made available a photograph that appears to show Craig Bellamy of Manchester City involved in an altercation with a supporter after the Citizens' defeat in the Manchester derby.

The match ended 4-3 at Old Trafford, Manchester United's Michael Owen seeing to it that Craig Bellamy's two-goal haul was rendered meaningless.

The fiery Welshman had twice netted the equaliser to make the game 2-2 and then 3-3, the latter goal coming just before stoppage time began.

What caused the potential altercation, as well as the circumstances around this image, are not yet known.

In another off-pitch flashpoint, Javier Garrido of City was apparently struck by a missile thrown by a United fan at half-time.

But the Bellamy incident as yet remains unclear, with only this image below as yet released to the public.

Ludicrous if true (what's the person doing so near O'Shea and Bellers?).

$10 say this overshadows both the extra time bollocks and the Tevez/Garrido missile now. Can't excuse Bellamy for punching someone though regardless, just as with Ade for the stamp.

Looks like the steward has got hold of the 'man in black' to stop him attacking Bellamy.

Maybe he is the one who threw a coin at Tevez.

We should be complaining to the FA about our players not being protected.

Imagine coins thrown at a Utd player at COMS and then one of them trying to attack Rooney. Think there might be something said then? I'm surprised no action is being taken against Arsenal for injuring one of our stewards last week and trying to invade the pitch.

If the fan was on the pitch Im sure Bellers would have a good case that he felt threatened and acted in self defence. If the FA wont accept that Im sure the old bill would.

If Bellamy has punched him then that is very stupid, the last thing we need is another striker missing.

The mune shouldn't have been on the pitch in the first place and was clearly there to confront Bellamy, the player was well within his rights to defend himself.

The scum should be charged by the FA for not keeping their fans under control.

as that picture is from behind could he not just be pointing at the bloke??
