Stunning 2nd goal by Germany tho no way our keeper should've been beaten from way out there. Good game

always the same though. I watched the world cup thingy in China the other year and the amount of shots from distance that the keepers don't get their body behind is poor. Most goals came from semi-decent shots from outside the box which either went straight in or poorly parried to an incoming striker.

It's the biggest difference between male and female football for me - the quality of the keeping. The passing is good and the tackling is committed. Makes for a good entertaining game.

Watch out after 65mins when both teams will tire especially England. It will go end to end like basketball then.

What a shit goal that is - she's not caught it one bit - I'd have needed to console our goalie if he conceded that shit in the wednesday league.
Frankly, I'm thinking I'll pull a castor semenya and rip up the world of women's football - in both senses.

They're clearly talented footballers - but they'd benefit from a smaller pitch/goals. no question.

you don't think the pitch is too big? massive pitch = emphasis on pace/power/range of passing/goal keepers - the weakest components of the women's game. Smaller pitch = emphasis on sharp passing/techique/control/movement and grit - the strong components of the women's game. The men could certainly learn a few things from the way they hit challenges (albeit the forces involved are lesser).

Crisp finish that.

our number 9 is poor, she can't pass to anyone and isn't good at shooting. The only thing she does is run fast. Bit like Vassell :-)

we need a keeper taller than 5 foot 4 in goal :-(

Browno is about 6ft i think - maybe 5'11. She's just a bit gash.

Eni Aluko - seen her on the last televised women's tourny. She's rapid like but there's not been a lot of product today - scored in the earlier rounds.
Smith is cleary decent.

I take it back - 5'7 on wiki. too small.

everytime I've seen smith I've been very impressed. She is very very good. Never seems to have a decent partner to play with though. Our tall defender with the mask on is also playing well. Our number 7 is a real trier too.

According to Wiki our keeper is 5 ft 7in. The goal looked huge when that header looped over her for the fourth goal. They would benefit from reducing the crossbar height by few inches IMO.

Grings for the fifth goal. She's the prettiest german player too :-)
