Nice cross for the 1st goal.... I think SWP place in the team will seriously come under threat this season by this young lad. I hope he comes on against Arsenal.

Well with Tevez out and Robinho possibly then he's jumped up the pecking order behind Bellamy. Would be good to be a couple of goals up and see him come on

As much as I dont want to lose SWP for sentimental reasons I cant help but agree with you, I think Weiss is going to be a regular next season.

(But I honestly thought that about Lee Croft a few years ago)

What acid are you taking?

Sweep has had a fantastic start to the season and long may it continue...jesus...some of you on here with your 'either or' attitude make me laugh...I suppose the concept of both vying for places is a little too difficult to grasp.

Imo we've handled Weiss really well, resisting throwing him in too soon whilst he built up more strength & learned to be a more of a team player. Now he's very close. I noticed last night that he was really starting to struggle 'round about the 60 min mark but unlike many ball players, he stuck to the task & summoned up the energy to make more good contributions to the team both tracking back & attacking. He looked a world superstar in the making last night; skill, pace, brains, touch, workrate, final pass were all there.

After watching that, I agree that IF Weiss continues in the same vein then SWP has no chance of keeping him out of the team. Unless he himself steps up a level, SWP is going to find himself 2nd choice within a year, unless Weiss gets a few games on the left & stars, in which case Robbie could be in big trouble! Robbie's goals make the difference though.

I recon SWP needs to smell the danger & work on his alround game so, in the future, he can get in the team as a utility player in different positions. Giggs has done that, so can Shaun.

Is looking a quality player but for now atleast i would bring him on when were either comfortable or last 15 mins against tiring defenders but if he carrys on improving like he has then he could be first team regular by end of season, which can only be good having 2 quality players fighting for the position.

I had thought Leslie would have had cover for SWP on his hit list this summer transfer window.
But having watched Weiss in the Czech game and last night at Windsor, he has filled out physically, a little but still needs to bulk up a little more for the Premier.
Physically and potential talent wise, last season he reminded me of Willo Flood. But I now know why Leslie wasn't looking a right winger.
A fantastic talent in the making but let's not rush him too quickly to the status of star.
Barring injury to SWP I think we will see a lot more of him this season but as a bit part player.

This kid is ready RIGHT NOW.

He looked unfazed when he was the highlight of our trip to the nou camp.
He looked unfazed in his MOTM performance in the most important game in his coutry's history.

I'm so proud we're gonna see Vlad light up this world cup.

And none of this is premature, so please stop with the Lee Croft comparrisons.

Tevez is out on Sat. I would start Vlad in his place.

I'd bring him on later in the game (assuming Robinho plays) then he'll be able to go at it full tilt without tiring. If Robbie doesn't play, I'd be very tempted to give Weiss an hour but Petrov will go apeshit if that's the case!

Agree Dub apart from the starting with him bit, i personally think it's too early to start him against a team like the Arse with all their quality. I think it could do Weiss more harm than good but i would stick him on with half an hour or twenty minutes to go against tired legs. I would definatley start him against the six teams we are playing after the derby at the expense of SWP.

A bit off topic but when did he come to our academy? And from where? I think I've read it somewhere but have forgotten it completely..
