bluemoon have a new banner thanking the sheikh, however, they have their website scrawled across the banner too? I thought you were not allowed to advertise a website? 1 rule for 1?

Hmmmm, when we asked the club if we could do this we were told we couldn't.

Maybe the mistake we made was to ask.

I much prefer a big flag to a banner - must be cheaper too?

Or perhaps there's been a policy change, might be the right time to ask again (obviously making the point that we've been turned down before and the splitters have slapped us in the face by letting two other forums in)

Sooooo, what should we have?

I think that was your mistake as I honestly don't see the problem with it. Your not advertising a business are ya.

The best lesson I was ever taught in life was "If you don't want to know the answer, don't ask the question" and I live by that rule everyday. If you do something feeling you were doing it in the best interests, then if it fails, you can argue you were trying your best, where as if you ask first and get told "No" then you can no longer try it, just because others are nor prepared to take the same gamble. Maybe a banner you can't use is an expensive waste, but we can see from the 2 already being used, the club seem prepared to turn a blind eye once they are already done. Bluewatch don't use the full URL and have not seen emough of the new banner to see if bluemoon have, but a simple "mancityfans.net" would be obvious how to find online.

Oh and while we are talking banners, can whoever keeps danging the england flag from level 2 of the south stand please stop, it blocks my view of the TV screen.

that was indeed bluemandan, however, we are talking about an official stadium banner. The only reason we have never bothered is because we were advised we were not allowed to put www.mancityfans.net on it

Only too true.

This happens a lot in general life.

If you rang up the police station and said "I'm unclear on the rules, am I allowed to smoke some cannabis, only £5 street amounts worth. I'll be in my own home so I won't be causing any trouble"

They'd say: "Under no circumstances! You would be caught and face a possible jail sentence!"

Where in reality the .5% chance a policeman catches you, at worst a slap on the wrist.

Me and my mate was once caught smoking it in a car, and a chief policeman caught us this one time, and he said "Now you know you shouldn't be doing that" and drove off.

I think that was just a small flag that was taken to an away game rather than a full size banner that is permanently on show at Eastlands.

The sheik banner is already up so the club know what`s on it and are happy for it to be up. I think the bollock dropped(obviously) was asking. However, we have a precident and cannot be treated differently. They realise the importance of fans by the appointment of Chris Neild alone. The case for a banner needs to be re-submitted I feel.
