How Good Can Nedum Be?

Simple question for you lads, with the talent he has, how far do you think he could go in the game?. I think that playing with the likes of Toure (Lescott hopefully) he will go from strength to strength and be one of the top defenders in the country.

Also Micah Richards could still yet get back to his best, and as a City fan I would love to see a mainly acadamy back line even with our billions, would be a big fuck you to the media.

For me at the minute though our best back line has to be this, when all fully fit etc...

Zabaleta - - Ned - - Toure - - Bridge

Filled with hard work and graft with a touch of class from Ned and Kolo, We could also drop Kompany back there when needed. If we get Lescott we will have a very solid back line on our hands, for the first time since Pearce's side really, although that was always over shadowed because we couldn't score at the other end!.

But yeah, Nedum will be a beast for us in the coming years.

Dunno how good - he looks like a future captain to me, and future England captain too. There's tonnes more to come from Micah as well if he stays focused. I hope Ned can show him the right way.

Why? Its clearly happening, so I think you can!!

I think for the majority of games it won't, there does need to be a working partnership between centre halves in order to get the best out of them. But for occasional manmarking exercises, having a 9 year club veteran come in and fulfill a role is perfectly acceptable.

I'm assuming that Hughes is hoping to play Zabs - Neddy - Kolo - Lescott for most games this season, Bridge isn't that good defensively, Zabba is better than Micah at the moment and Ned is already better than Dunne

Micah was probably being used to counter Roberts/Samba in set pieces so it was the right call, but honestly I think he did enough to get a foot in for a regular spot. In the centre, it HAS to be Ned/Toure, I just saw the match highlights and the amount of times Dunne drifted off Roberts was criminal. No wonder I thought he was last ditch defending all the time.

Mad isn’t it how people remember things differently. Ned was nowhere near Micah’s level at CB or RB. Every time he had the ball I closed my eyes because I knew he was nervous as fuck and as close to a cock up. Had no pace, wasn’t good on the ball, was an alright tackler. That’s about it.

Had no pace? Did you read the piece on him on the OS re his sprinting ability - supposedly, up there with the best athletes at the time? Must admit that i thought he was shite with the ball at his feet
