The Chinese club who bought Hulk have supposedly bid £37m for Ighalo from Watford. Utter madness both in putting the bid in and also in not taking it

I meant Watford in not accepting the bid. If the player then decides not to move then that is another matter. But £37m for Watford is a very tasty profit on the player

genuine question: how much is the difference in the money that Watford will make by staying up next season vs going down? Isn't it a lot more than 37m? Or was that just this last season? Ighalo is the type of player that can keep them up.

They should bid for wooney. They would then have hulk and abomination in their forward line.

That is true. But £37m for a player that cost nothing two years ago us good business. That would buy a lot of other players. Also, there is no guarantee Ighalo or any forward for that matter, will remain injury free and score goals. I'd have thought better to cash in and free up more money to strengthen the squad myself

We are increasingly becoming the only club linked with John Stones, and for around £50m.

Why are we going after him? How on earth has his valuation ended up like this? The £30m Chelsea offered last year was absurd, but now his valuation has increased after a shocking season.

I'd love to be wrong and for him to turn out to be an excellent player but I'd rather we wait at least one more year to see how he develops. Even if that means someone else buying him. But he's not shown anything that shows he deserves to be playing for us, never mind at £50m.

I agree it's great profit-wise, but not sure if I agree they can buy a lot of other players with that money.

When Troy Deeney is being valued at £30m and teams like Palace, Stoke, West Ham etc. are all capable of paying £30m+ plus for players, the competition for signings will be tougher than ever.

The latest article I've read still links the rags, Chelsea and Barca.

Chelsea reportedly offered as high as £38m last summer.

Why? 34 year old self obsessed over the hill footballer? I don't see the problem. I would much prefer a 29 yrs old in their prime than an over the hill old timer

I must admit I haven't seen anything of Nolito and didn't know who he was pre-Euro 16. But there's a Liverpool fan in work that says he's 'naughty' which means good in scouse apparently, and he would usually dog any City signing whether they're good or not.

I haven't heard anyone apart from rags go on about how brilliant Zlatan is. And when the rags do, it's nice to remind them he only signed for them because the Mang let him out of his back pocket.
