His contract is up this summer isn’t it?

Be a great guy to have around the place for another year or even two. Even if he doesn’t play much.

No , i think it is ok that Bernie leaves. Even though he has been really great this season. City need to learn from the Gündo and eventually the DeBruyne performances.

As always when someone is injured or moving on ,somebody steps up.

For example Nico got a lot of stick when he first signed, he seemed a bit lethargic and prone to errors but he moved into that Rodri role and got better over time. However, he has grown into his role in midfield and is a bit unlucky that pep has gone for Rodri recently.
Perhaps Nico can step into Bernados role ?
If Bernie stays again great , but the emphasis must be on younger , faster more powerful players in midfield next season.

It is clear that the rebuilding is taking a lot of time, but this season isn't over yet. A win against a very out of form Scouse 2 is very possible at the weekend.
Just need to keep on chugging along. one game at a time.

Agree totally with youth options and Nico. Both Nico’s actually.

My point was he is obviously a well loved guy who is probably one of the most positive influences in the dressing room and on the training pitch. And as such would be great to have around. And as I said, even if he doesn’t play much

But I totally get he has likely reached a point in his career where he wants a new adventure and probably in a country with a warmer climate

Yes, but sentiment should not come into the equation. Absolutely no doubt , Gündo in his later years with City was a great player , contributed so much.
In my opinion his childhood dream ruined eveything for him . His Barca romance didn't really work , coming back to City certainly did not work. Now he is plying his trade until they tire of him in Turkeye. Sad really. Back to Bernie, even if he stays, he must recognise when it is right to start the younger players, the just as competent players and then he should nip into the dressing room just before half time and slice the oranges.

Are either much better than what we already have?

Because either would be at least £80M you’d think.

Elliot Anderson will come with English tax, so if they are both a similar price, I would go for Anderson as they are similar levels but Anderson is English and younger (23).

Apparently Everton want to bring back John Stones. Can some lads going to the Cup game on Saturday, pass the hat round in Mary Ds for the Taxi fare ?

I won't tempt fate, but every time we've written Stones off, he's generally come back and between injuries put a run together which proves what a talent he is - I'd love him to have one last hurrah in the remaining games.

Worth taking into account though, that while the number isn't up there with Bernie, he's actually had a really consistent number of games each season averaging around 29 games a season in 10 years, a fair bit of which he was also out of favour in pep's early years - and in a position there has generally been significant competition in

Such a shame, and its sad to see him referred to in these terms, even if I do totally understand the sentiment.

Agree, he is a top quality player when fit, but he is totally unreliable due to being made of glass. I did see some stats about the number of games he has missed due to injury and it's pretty staggering. I thank him for his amazing quality when he was playing for us and he was certainly a massive contributor to our success, however it's the right time to let him go elsewhere.

All the best to Stones. Been a pleasure.

Bayern deny they have an interest in Foden!!! Make of that what you will. They said that about Kane.

All of our players who are in the category "capable when performing well" should be held onto until at least next season when the new manager comes in. I include Grealish in this category and certainly Phil. They might all bomb, they might all turn it around, but I don't want to be looking at Foden in 12 months time at another club thinking what could have been.

All true however for me the loos of form for both the two players you mentioned is over years not games. Phil and Jack are have had the environment to fly. Both have been crap. Sorry but it’s true. So sad to see Foden become a bit part player. My heart says stay my head he’s in a hole.

If Rodri is seriously thinking of going to Real Madrid after their performance at his big awards gig then he's a fool. Just before he got injured he complained about playing too much football whilst playing 21 games for his country that year.

Football is killing itself with prima donnas and bubble dwelling leeches.

Get the fucker sold if we can get anything for him.

You are not suggesting Rodri is a Primadonna are you ?

Why should he be sold ? Very disrespectful
