In days gone by, you'd often find one of these guys 'masquerading as a PL footballer' scoring the winner against us.

One of Altidore's 2 PL goals was the winner against us, for Hull.
Luke Moore has scored the winner against us for both West Brom and Swansea. Has he been seen since?

Step forward please.......................Anderson!

Utter gash dogshite. Didn't it take him nearly three years to score a Premier League goal? For a forward midfield player playing in that team who won all those games over the period of time he was in the team, that took some doing!

Also the two Shirley Temple lookalike twins who played for the devilworshippers the last few years. Utter shite and filthy bastards to boot.

And I have to mention the one that a few of you have already put forward...............Tom "fuckin dogshite" Cleverley.

An ex Blue who played in the Premier with Derby and Leeds if I remember correctly..............Spencer Prior. He just wasn't very good at all!

He's the saviour of West Ham - soon, honest, its coming ...

And another England international, along with Ricketts.

Somebody mentioned Roger Johnson, whose name I was trying to remember, dopey looking cunt who actually gets passed around by 'old school' type managers & they actually pay people money in order to have him at their clubs.

Of course, the latest such manager is Sam Allardyce, who coincidentally has Carlton Cole, & used to manage Vaz Te, Ricketts; I wonder how many others ?

I am genuinely intrigued that you think he's one of the worst Pl players and when I showed some stats that he's been a relative success everywhere he's gone bar Fulham, you start to patronize. Maybe now he's gone a bit shit as he heads towards the end of his career but someone who has scored over 100 PL goals is certainly not 'masquerading as a PL footballer'. More than Drogba, Torres, RVN, Bergkamp, Tevez etc. Seems a few have missed the point of this thread. I'll go for altidore then. 2 goals in 50 odd Pl matches. Bramble too, had no business playing in the PL, nor did Ameobi. Corradi to go for one of ours, he was dreadful.

Peter Crouch has a fantastic goal scoring to games ratio for England - one of the countries best strikers? When you look at the teams he scored against it would be debatable.

With Bent it's application, journeyman in the most professional sense, a player who strolls onto the pitch and pretty much cant be arsed - whats worse a player with zip all talent or a player with talent who decides its easier to kick back, not play and almost take early, well paid, retirement?

There are a few players that fit into the 'Titus' mould, and in my view throwing stats around is not debating the point its using wiki. If my take on this isn't within highly specific boundaries then so be it, i make no apologies.

The above is simply my own impression of a player that i believe has been taking a couple of clubs as an early retirement fund - there where no time constraints set when this player would suddenly stop being an affective footballer - even Titus would have been able to kick a ball straight at some point in his life ... Out side the box thinking, or is it blue sky thinking?

So in my view, as a striker in the peak years of his playing career - with good historic stats - is actually stealing a career as a footballer and has been for a few seasons. I believe the key word is Peak - he should be challenging for an England spot but for at least the last two seasons has spat his dummy out, strolled around a pitch when he managed to get on some turf and pretty much cashed in his chips not long after his 'big money move'.

And as for petty insults accusing 'people' of missing the points of threads and critiquing their opinions with nothing but wiki stats could be taken as insulting if i was as highly strung as yourself but its cool, like water off a ducks back mate.

Fair enough.

I wasn't criticizing your opinion, I was debating it. Yes Peter Crouch has been one of England's best strikers over the years. That's not saying much mind. Apart from Shrek who has there been? Defoe, a declining Owen, etc. Hardly been spoilt for choice. The thing I was getting at, was this thread is about the worst of the worst, the shittest of the shite. The guys who'dbe mroe likely to fall over their own feet then hit the target. The Titus Bramble's, the Shola Ameobis, the Bernardo Corradis etc etc. It's not about players who haven't made the most of their talent or lack the work ethic, it's about the players who never had any talent i the first place.
Bent imo does have talent and is a decent finisher. Although stats can be interpreted one way or another, someone who's scored over 100 PL goals simply can't be regarded in the same category as the aforementioned. He may have strolled in the last couple of years but he's got a 1 in 3 or better ratio everywhere he's been.

That's why I reccomend Altidore, 2 goals in 50 odd PL games, now that is fucking stealing a living!
Bebe's a good shout also.

Bent didn't used to qualify, but has never been the most talented of players, in fact has never had much football talent at all, just an ability to score goals regularly.

If the 'scoring' part has now deserted him, then tbf, he does actually now belong amongst the footballing Ant n Decs.

Not having this one, not great for City but was fantastic at Madrid. Rated very highly by lots of very good players who played with him. Surely Zidane can't be wrong?

I think I know what this thread is going to be used for if we lose or draw :)
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."
