71 - Jesus Navas created the most chances from open play in La Liga during 2012-13. Crafty.

He has provided 79 clear chances in the Spanish league this season, the fifth highest total in the country

at least one of these is wrong.

Either way, he's got moves.

Pacey (faster than Theo Walcott apparently), direct, technical and un-afraid to cross.

We have been crying out for a player like this for years. If this happens, its a major team weakness solved (although we could do with another of the same quality on the left).... (not scott).

Is anyone leaving now or is this one of those transfers when noone has to leave?
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Thank god sense is prevailing

I had to report that last post of Chinners' as it was so offensive in its lack of wisdom as to how "these things" work

Meh. Underwhelmed by this, he looks about 9 stone and gets pushed around in La Liga. I hope he proves me wrong.

Rumours of the return of Pizarro today too, didn't play much for us, but one of the most elegant players I've ever watched.

The latter, definitely. Have a gander at this from the guardian article:

Navas will bring City pace on the right wing, the ability to take on full-backs and deliver telling passes. He has provided 79 clear chances in the Spanish league this season, the fifth highest total in the country.

His signing is an intriguing one, not only because of the need to adapt to Manchester but also because Pellegrini has rarely played with out-and-out wingers in the past, usually preferring his "wide" men to come inside. Navas could undergo the kind of evolution that Joaquín experienced under Pellegrini at Málaga, encouraged to move towards the middle and ending up playing behind the striker. His game has also been altered slightly in his final season at Sevilla, becoming involved in more central positions in the absence of a natural playmaker.

We are nearing the moment when our central midfield will be so full of players that someone will literally pop out.

His Samaras moment...

Doesn't look as impressive as Samaras though, and looks less like Jesus. All bad signs.
