Wouldn't improving in league basically mean winning it?

No - it would mean being closer than 16 points behind the leaders with a few games to go.

Do u blame the players in anyway..

The manager is in charge it's upto him to sort his team out.

Pardew is lucky to be in a job IMHO he did well last year motivating his players this year something isnt right and the buck stops with him.

Newcastle are the level of Wigan we are the best squad in the League, Losing to Wigan was just wrong on so many levels.

Maine Road Memories gave a clue to what was happening but nobody commented. There was a long piece about Pixie and Dixie giving Mancini a long contract in the full knowledge of who and what he was, only a short time ago. It wasn't a normal contract by today's standards...it was very long term. Now they give us reasons they already knew at that time as reasons for getting rid of him...What do 2 + 2 ADD UP TO?

...And if Mancini, who they now decide was shite and not up to it, was worth a long contract, why is their new choice only worth 2 years.

It may be worth remembering that there have been 2 great football dynasties in England since the 60s. The 1st was Liverpool. Their stability was led by Shankly and their culture was based on the boot room. Succeeding managers after Shankly came from the bootroom and that is what gave it its longevity. It was designed and run by FOOTBALLERS.
The 2nd great dynasty was and still is that at the swamp led by the patriarch that is Taggart. Moyes may have taken over but you can bet his lord and bacon protector will be on hand to ensure that the change is as seamless as problem free for Moyes as posiible....IT WAS DESIGNED AND RUN BY FOOTBALLERS...EDWARDS HAD FUCK ALL TO WITH IT.
The Barca dynasty was already in place..DESIGNED AND RUN BY FOOTBALLERS.

We on the other hand give carte blanche to control the whole of football at City. From the nursery to the 1st team to a pair of fucking power crazed suits.

Even Bayern have Hoeness and KHR overseeing Munich.

You could not make it up....but all is ok. the PR department said so....my fucking arse.

Sorry mate but you are talking bollocks.

John MacBeath, City's interim chief executive officer, said: "Roberto's managerial credentials have been well proven in Europe for many years and in leading a team which has won the FA Cup and an unforgettable Premier League title in successive seasons, his ability to manage in the English domestic game is also undisputed.

"This new agreement allows Roberto to focus on the challenge of guiding a team which is capable not only of defending the Premier League title, but one which can compete for European honours."

Confirming the length of the new deal, a statement from the club said: "Manchester City Football club are pleased to announce that a new contract has been agreed with manager Roberto Mancini. The deal, which runs until the summer of 2017, follows the club's most successful season in more than four decades, which concluded in the most dramatic of circumstances in the team's thrilling 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers in May this year [that won the Premier League title]. Agreement was reached after, in line with club policy, discussions began as the season closed."

Soriano & Txiki.

They weren't at the club. Negotiations strated in May (& Bob started talking to Russia & other clubs) & the temporary CEO + Khaldoon signed him up.

Well at a guess it was John MacBeath who gave him the contract extension.

The only story that should matter is, he lost the dressingroom and once that happens, no matter the manager, it's over.

and you are speaking for the 40 odd thousand City fans at Wembley last weekend all singing his name ? 'nobody liked him' what rubbish !

No I'm not, i was referring to the revelations that he was disliked within the club.

Talking of rubbish though, the estimates of Blues goes up by the day. And let me assure that not all of them sang his name. I was behind the goal and there were plenty of people not singing it.
If you look at the poll on here (and this forum tends to be generally more 'pro Mancini' than at the ground) it would show you that the support for him had dropped significantly as it dawned on more and more people that he isn't all that good.

As an aside, Alan Ball had a very popular singalong chant for him, and he was fucking rubbish too.

It had a lot to do with Edwards. He got the financial rules of football changed to heavily weight things in United's (And the other big clubs) favour. It was no coincidence that the filth only managed to win the league after yonks with the beginning of the Sky era.

I am honestly glad that someone who holds the pedigree to be respected by the whole board is flying the flag of THE ISSUE, which I've modestly and within my massive limits, tried to draw.

Because that's an important! of that kind of importance which transcends our personal leisure at taking the piss of each other while flying the flag of our own sentiments and likings about the idea of football.

Every next incumbent shall always have my backing, until it will be proven beyond any doubt that he does not fit the bill nor he stands a chance to fit it if granted a tad of patience and experience - even now and for what it matters, in the holistic era.

I will certainly won't call for the Falcons head, should he end up second in the League, after a disappointing European campaign a trip to Wembley: not even if he will be enhanced and given the players which were refused to Mancini.

The point stands well above the personal sympathy for one of the few managers - now certainly only coaches - who can fit the current MCFC's bill.
I really wish to the Club and to every single Blue that these Smart Dressed, Politically Correct Blokes, will prove themselves up to the job, after having secured the stronghold of the milking way.

The number of people that are registered on here and the number of people that view this site , should not be used to evaluate the variety of opinions and the City support at all.

It's particularly worrying that supporters like yourself, in order to gainsay on a forum use phrases like 'he isn't all that good'

Well , his winning record holds up against any manager. What do you perceive to be 'all that good ' ?

Ted,
When Mancini was offered and signed that contract Sorry was already well on the scene. The only delay was his problems with Spanair. I suggest you check some of Sorry's statement as late as March this years regarding his view on Mancini. He has and is lying to the City fans.

For the umpteenth time again...I am NOT defending Mancini....so please don't anyone (PICCS ARE YOU READING THIS) twist or manipulate what I have posted.

We are now designing a football model which will be under the total control of someone who is NOT a footballer. Someone who is already planning our new players. Who has already decided the strategy not just of club policy but how teams play on the pitch. They have already decided that any newmanager will simply have to do as he is told regarding football matters...Shades of Swales anyone?

What we have done is a Chelsea, backed the players and sacked the manager, add a touch of spin this time last Friday that was the work of the club.I am no Mancini fan he has pissed me off many times on my travels this season, QPR, I could have slapped him sensless, 2 in the morning walking up the fucking A6 after that shite. The performance of the team last Saturday was a disgrace and one which has stopped me going Sunday as I am not clapping them off for taking the piss out of me you and every other daft cunt who had it down as important.

Personally, expecting any new manager in the premier league to come in and win the league in their first way is crazy.
It may happen, but putting that as a criteria to make or break the season is a little outlandish. Players need to figure out
the new manager and vise versa. And the manager needs to figure out the league.

Again, this is my opinion.

Good point a couple of the usual commentators on Spanish football have said he will take 3,4 months to get his style of play across to the players, once they get it will be good. Can we get a better home record..

It does smack of the control-freak chairman situation somewhat.

Or you could say the model they are bringing will be led later on by football people who have been through that very system. Shades of Ajax anyone?

I admit that this is perhaps a little facetious but it can be argued both ways. You can also argue that the non-player has brought into the system one of the finest and best-respected former footballers the modern era has seen in Vieira. Which of course guarantees nothing. Very top players become top coaches or managers.

Obviously I have no answer for you, John, as I am just as in the dark as you are and just as concerned as you are. Your point is valid and needed to be raised.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.
