for shreks average ability it was a one off. hence why he never shuts up about it. if this was messi or the tranny, it would be another day at the office.

Yeah, every Messi or Tranny goal is a bicycle kick. Good point.
141 goals in 280 odd games. Average? Haha.

How and why?

Look at the two goals. Balo's was very good but Rooney's was a different class. The ball was coming to him higher and quicker, he was further from goal and it didn't bounce first.
Like I said, if that was Aguero against United we would call it possibly the greatest goal in PL history.

Imo, Rooneys goal seemed flukey to me, hitting his shin. I don't think he wanted to hit it with his shin. Balo's looked deliberate and "planned".

CC, come on mate.
'flukey? What so he just happened to be upside down in mid air? It took amazing anticipation and athleticism to react quickly enough to be in a position to make contact, never mind score from it.

It wasn't 'deliberate' or 'planned'? What the hell was he trying to do then? Head it? Pass it?
It may have hit his shin, so what? He got a bloody firm contact on it. To score from that position is amazing no matter what body part it hits. Sometimes you have to use unorthodox methods to score. To call it a fluke just seems bitter.

Balotelli's against Villa was a good goal yes which took a lot of skill, but not nearly the same class.

I detest him as a person I really do and I don't actually want to see him in a blue shirt but that doesn't mean he's shit.

It still hit his shin and could've gone to million different direction. Therefore it was flukey.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

It could have gone anywhere, but it didn't- it went in. In the same way that when Roberto Carlos scored that free kick screamer, it could of gone anywhere. When Elano hit that free kick against Newcastle, it could have easily gone miles over. It didn't and neither did Rooney's. It went in. He meant it.
Shame it was a Rag player against us but still an unbelievable goal.
still maintain if it was a city player nearly all of our fans who say it was flukey would say he meant it. Which in my opinion he did. It may have hit his shin but that does't take away from it.

You know it's getting boring, seriously.
Grow up. Have a football debate without resorting to childish insults. I don't see how that's 'wanking over him'. I'm saying he's a good player and it was a good goal. United do have some good players you know.

And before you start with the 'you're not a city fan' etc. I held a season tickets for many years until this one where I moved abroad.

LOL

Why would I say you are not a City fan? You just have tendency to idolize all sorts of rags AND you have very twisted view on most football matters.

You often seem to imply it.
I don't idiolize all sorts of Rags but I don't think they're shit just because I'm a City fan. I like having debates. This place would be boring if everyone held the same opinion. In this particular debate I've said it was a great goal, I stand by that. That doesn't make me a Rag idolizer, i'd sy it if any player scored that no matter what team.
The fact is you're entitled to think I speak shit, but you rarely/never argue the point I'm making, you simply throw out a childish insult and it's bloody immature.

This is by far the worst line that people spew out on here. Just because someone thinks your opinion is shit does not mean they are against debate. And just because your opinion is different does not mean it is contributing value. If no one was on here expressing your opinion, the quality of debate would not drop in the slightest.

you are right there . i can't believe he's still waffling on about a shin pad , dangerous , foot up ( almost 6 feet) hail mary attempt at goal , that even Joe Hart thought was aimed at the Corner flag . Despite my previous eloquent explanation of said shin pad attempt and why it was a lucky strike ....

Edit:

and i don't think they are shit because i am a City fan, i think they are shit because they are shit.

You're right, it was lucky. He accidently bicycle kicked it when he was trying to head it. He wasn't even trying to shoot. In fact he should have been sent off for dangerous play.

NO !!!! ffs he was trying to kick it, not head it ! why would you suggest that ? it doesn't make your argument any more plausible. It was a mis hit, a shin pad, a mistake, a badly timed shot, a jammy dodger,a one off. you get my drift ?

Quite frankly, it's a goal I would like to forget, but it always seems to be shown when we are mentioned.
There is no doubt the goal was intended and the execution was good.
But on the other hand, if the ball connected with his FOOT it wouldn't of ended up where it did because the cushion and impact would cause a different reaction.

Mistimed? He was fucking upsdie down in mid air. I'd say he timed it pretty well.
A mis hit? Who's to say he was trying to kick it? He got what he could to the ball.

all i see here are to wooney fans circle jerking each other off.

the guy is average, fat, ugly and will be shown up for what he is once he leaves the scum for a better team.

only good thing shrek does good is his positioning when he taps it in. which clearly doesn't involve him moving alot, him being out of shape and all.
Still here.
