I disagree Beefy.'Schweini' is overweight and coming back from some injuries. He has lost his pace and i do not believe he can get it back.
He's gone to the rags for a big pay day.
He will not get the protection from the refs that Bayern get in the BL..... Well not at Stoke on a Wintery midweek in January.
At least he can stock up on Thuringer bratwurst in Albert Square over the eight weeks of Xmas shopping, come november.

I tend to agree with Beefy. He was given a rough ride by Argentina in the WCF they knocked lumps out of him quite literally and all it seemed to do was spur him on, his energy levels were excellent in a game that went to extra time at the end of a gruelling tournament.
So Stoke won't be the first (or last) to have a crack at him and the winters in Germany will have been no better than our own. I'm not sure pace was ever one of his key attributes, though he will have lost some of what he had of course. His experience is something that won't falter and if he was coming to us I'd be happy enough.

Pre season appears to have started what is going on? I feel a bit frustrated by the inactivity.

Yeah, i don't disagree with either of you guys, but it kind of sums up the state the Rags are in.
The Bundesliga takes a Winter break. The teams usually boll off to the hot weather locations for a bit of sun .
I used the Stoke reference because it seems the usual one for for players coming to England, 'Cold , miserable, rainy night in January etc'
I don't think he will be a disaster there, but at 30 , it's not the kind of age a team should be looking to build around, It seems to be a purchase to fill one of
those holes in Rip Van Gaals dyke. Not sure if it will last though. "Big name signing" ( and yes it is quite a big name isn't it, Schweinsteiger, 14 letters ! fit that on the back of a counterfeit shirt. Should see some cracking cheap ones with spelling mistakes).
