Good signing for the Rags, somebody who can control the midfield. Not sure what they'll do with the likes of Carrick though; put him out of his misery?

Ok so no Delph he is not good enough anyway. So far this window, a very important one, is worrying. Loosing milner and lampard we are weaker and need to get the finger out.

I disagree Beefy.'Schweini' is overweight and coming back from some injuries. He has lost his pace and i do not believe he can get it back.

He's gone to the rags for a big pay day.

He will not get the protection from the refs that Bayern get in the BL..... Well not at Stoke on a Wintery midweek in January.

At least he can stock up on Thuringer bratwurst in Albert Square over the eight weeks of Xmas shopping, come november.

Hasn't Butthead only got another two years left on his contract ?? He probably thinks he won't be kept on after that so any purchases might only be short term fixes to make him seem to be a good manager whilst he's with them.

After that, it's the Louis XV death bed prediction (or so they say) for the Scum's prospects.

The BBC is full of scum and dippers signings and has been for days I don't see much for us at all, are we planning to play our kids instead of bringing new players in or is it that Tixie appears completely hopeless at signing anyone ? Pre season appears to have started what is going on? I feel a bit frustrated by the inactivity.

Of course, he's not the player he was and is surplace to requirements at BM. But he'll bring something, if only for the winning mentality, which they seriously lack.

On another note, why is everybody panicking about signings? Look where the Rags and Dippers are shopping. The Dippers are doing Poundshop while the Rags are running between Aldi and Cash Converters whereas we are at Harrods; our deals don't happen overnight.

Unless, of course, we end up with Sinclair Pt 2!

It's not panicking it's obvious the signings wherever you shop should have been well planned and the preparatory work already completed. We saw what a good early transfer operation did for chelski so given were a big club where are the men who will take us back to the top?

If we land sterling in the next day or so I guess all of us fickle cunts will shut up for a minute. Dubious.

I'm hoping that we land sterling but does doing so mean Kdb is off the table I wonder?

Should be a fun week ahead.

I tend to agree with Beefy. He was given a rough ride by Argentina in the WCF they knocked lumps out of him quite literally and all it seemed to do was spur him on, his energy levels were excellent in a game that went to extra time at the end of a gruelling tournament.

So Stoke won't be the first (or last) to have a crack at him and the winters in Germany will have been no better than our own. I'm not sure pace was ever one of his key attributes, though he will have lost some of what he had of course. His experience is something that won't falter and if he was coming to us I'd be happy enough.

Yeah, i don't disagree with either of you guys, but it kind of sums up the state the Rags are in.

The Bundesliga takes a Winter break. The teams usually boll off to the hot weather locations for a bit of sun .

I used the Stoke reference because it seems the usual one for for players coming to England, 'Cold , miserable, rainy night in January etc'

I don't think he will be a disaster there, but at 30 , it's not the kind of age a team should be looking to build around, It seems to be a purchase to fill one of
those holes in Rip Van Gaals dyke. Not sure if it will last though. "Big name signing" ( and yes it is quite a big name isn't it, Schweinsteiger, 14 letters ! fit that on the back of a counterfeit shirt. Should see some cracking cheap ones with spelling mistakes).

I wish we had Schweinsteiger. Especially at £15m. If we only got two or years out of him and he went for free at the end of it, it still isn't a lot of money. I'm a big believer in you can't have enough winners around the training ground, in the dressing room and on the field and this guy has won the lot. Make no mistake, he will improve the rags hugely

Di Marzio says Roma in town to discuss a deal for Dzeko. I'd be very surprised if this doesn't go through.
