Honestly, I don't expect anything major to happen before july. Everyone is on vacation right now and most of the best players are in World Cup and not interested talking about transfers.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I agree with you on all counts mate, however they are a team that have made the Champions League and will hope to keep some of their better players for it, afterall, as we all know, you can't expect to get anywhere with too many new faces and inferior players. That is why I said they'd most probably want the same sort of price as Villa, or more, but is he worth that much?

Silva ticks the boxes in many ways for us, can play left, right, attacking/creative midfielder or even striker with the only downside being him not having Prem experience, however he is a player that our team is missing and if he can do it in Spain, I'm sure he can do it here.

I just wonder if Robbie's name will be mentioned during the reported meeting?

I think more to the point is that players don't want it coming out that they are moving club whilst they are in contention for the World Cup, which can disrupt them and the fans. Imagine Gerrard coming out and saying he's moving to Real or us, the fans would have a lynch-mob outside his house (after nicking his washing line for the rope of course) and imagine the impact it would have on his/Fabio's WC plans. We have seen a lot of the England players already coming out and stating that they are only concentrating on the WC, and this is probably down to Fabio's instruction, similar to that of Cesc et al.

I do think that a lot of deals have already been sorted in principle and it won't be until after the WC finishes that they will be notified.

Manchester City are getting ready for a summer clear out as Roberto Mancini begins to shape his squad for next season.

Benjani will be released when his contract expires next month, and he is likely to be followed out of the door by Martin Petrov.

The Blues are also prepared to listen to offers for Valeri Bojinov, who spent last season on loan at Parma, where he scored eight goals in 29 games.

He also scored for Bulgaria in a 1-1 friendly draw against World Cup hosts South Africa.

City are reported to have quoted Parma £4m for the 24-year-old, but the Serie A side are hoping that the price will drop.

Felipe Caicedo is another who City will sell if the offers are right – and he ended the season on a high, leading loan club Malaga to La Liga safety.

They now hope that possible Kuwaiti investment could allow them to buy Caicedo.

The Blues will also listen to offers for Kelvin Etuhu and Brazilian flop Jo.

I also think they`ll listen to offers for another brazillian

Dirty Bastard!

Leeds United sign Kasper Schmeichel on two-year deal

Kasper Schmeichel joining 'one of the biggest clubs in the country'

Leeds United have completed the free transfer signing of former Manchester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel on a two-year contract as they prepare for life in the Championship.

The 23-year-old Denmark Under-21 international moves to the club after leaving Notts County by mutual consent earlier this month.

Leeds manager Simon Grayson, who guided the club to automatic promotion from League One last season, said: "After releasing Casper Ankergren we wanted to bring another goalkeeper in and Kasper has had an excellent season at Notts County.

"There were a lot of Premier League clubs interested in him, but he wanted to come here. He's got fantastic ability, he's a winner and he's determined to take this club forward.

"He has some fantastic qualities and he will provide us with good competition for places, which is what we want."

Schmeichel, the son of former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, made 42 appearances for County and kept 20 clean sheets as the Magpies gained promotion to League One as champions.

He started his professional career at Manchester City and made his Premier League debut for them in 2007.

He said on LUTV: ""I've been talking to clubs, and when the question was raised about interest from Leeds I said yes. I've grown up in England, know a lot about English football, and I know Leeds is one of the biggest clubs in the country.

"There were other opportunties, but Leeds has everything. It's a massive club and has a massive fan base."

SSN breaking news - Dzeko thought to be in talks with Man City - looks like we heard about the clause in his contract.

Mmmmm, where could they have heard that, or was it that Stevie mentioned it to get a bidding war going on?

Would this be classed as Mancini's Ibrahimovich?

Considering the clause is for a fixed fee, and considering the clause expires on Monday (meaning they would get more money for him if they waited) I would consider it a pretty dumb move personally, as I mentioned before.
