Not a chance - he's still off his tits from new year.

Plus Pellegrini said he's injured

Like I said, if he's homesick, I'm sure there are plenty of jobs he could find at home. Or he can keep taking the wages and man up.

Homesickness is really hard - I still feel it - but everyone else in the world has to keep working when they get it. I suspect that that is not the whole problem. Injuries are a different matter entirely.

Mind you, being injured would give him more time to work on his English, study performance video, make friends in his new city, etc. I think he has probably been doing all these things.

Whatever the situation, all the very best to him.

I get the homesickness bit - I've had lots of opportunities to work in the middle East over the last few years for a lot more money, but wouldn't want to take the kids and certainly don't want to leave them. Footballers aren't your usual immigrant and most could earn a decent living at home, if that's what they wanted. If they want to be millionaires, they can't then complain about what they need to do to get it.

That said, there is no evidence at all that Jovetic is homesick. There's no evidence at all of what is up with him. There are players like Zabaleta who will go mad on the side of the pitch as the referee won't let them play on with blood pumping from their broken nose. Then there are players who don't feel confident to play unless they are completely niggle free. From Pellegrini's comments it sounds like the latter, but they could all have been genuine injuries which would prevent anyone from playing.

Problem is, either of those mean we're not going to get a lot of game time from him. I think he also missed a lot of games in Italy due to injury.

Santa Cruz, Rodwell and now Jovetic. You could also add the likes of RVP & Micah to that list. Players who have a lot of minor injuries generally continue to get a lot of minor injuries.

He's played abroad for some time as far as I know.

Until someone actually levels with us on what the problem is the fans are just going to speculate all sorts of stuff.

That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.

I agree.

I love the City gallows sense of humor. In the days off the Kippax, and being tattered week in week out it was sometimes more entertaining than the football on the pitch. City fans especially the older generation(not the new generation glory hunter) have thick skins,(they had too) and the best sense off humour in England.

When Jovetic returns the same fans taking the piss, all good humored, will give the lad full support on the pitch.

Who knows maybe he has been laughing his bollocks off at some off the piss funny pictures.

Looking forward to seeing him play regularly, he does exist i have seen him play on videos and he looks class :-)

Yes, in Florence (good connections with Montenegro), in Italy (which has a winter break over the Christmas period), which I stated above.

BS 76 - Homesickness is an odd thing. If he's being affected by it, or a mild depression/knock of confidence over persistent injuries/niggles, I'd expect the club would allow him home for some r&r, especially if he's 50:50, and they believe it may give him a mental pick-me-up.

Some very interesting quotes below doing the rounds regards Jovetic by Pellegrini. I am not jumping to conclusions here, but you cant help but get the feeling reading between the lines that we have a player who is telling the manager he is constantly injured or has not recovered properly from his injuries regardless off the different medical opinion, it at least explains the vagueness and contradictions with his injuries. The manager has no choice but to take what the player is saying to him as fact. It doesn't look like this is going to end good. Pretty sure this will come to a head if he does not return for Newcastle away given how we need him back like now.

"It is very difficult to know with Jovetic."

" I believe what the player says and if he says he has a muscle problem and I’m absolutely sure he has a muscle problem."

"We hope it was bad luck for the first part of the season and we can use him in the second half because he is a very important player."

"At the end of the season, maybe I'll change my opinion. But at the moment, I continue trusting him."

Michael Johnson?

Also, is Pellegrini insinuating that he might lose trust if this continues & start "talking shit on" him (not my words)?

I think he's saying if it gets to the end of the season and he hasn't featured in many matches over the coming months we will get rid.
(Johnson had issues which the club were aware of and sympathetic towards, but it doesn't sound like that is the case with Jovetic)

They probably trying to persuade him to play on, even though he can feel an injury & he doesn't fancy it. They did the same with Aguero, who they said was holding back due to 'injury' .

Now he's out injured.
