No need for a poll
We are going to win a shitload over the next few years.
A cup and a top 4 finish will happen.
The team are already playing like winners.

I couldn't decide but after reading some of the replies, i'll have to go with Carling Cup. Purely to end our trophyless tenure.
Realistically we can win everything in the next 10 years, you don't know how amazing it is to be able to say that. I can't stop smiling!
***Woah the vote is 50/50!!!***

Trophy is for heart
Top 4 is for brain.
"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

I just voted top 4 for this reason................
We're on a mission to be the best team in Europe. You can't do that without the very best players and Top 4 would make us the most attractive proposition for any incoming, top quality players. With those players will come trophies. Top 4 is our golden goose. You don't sacrifice it for the sake of a trophy.
Like everyone else on here though, I'd be happy with both.
Has the world gone mad, ..............or is it me?

Trophy for me but the good news is that if we are good enough to win the CC beating the scum and Villa we will make top 4 as well. And as per John why not the FA Cup as well

I've gone for Top 4, and in particularily the Premier League title......................that'll cover the silverware and Champions League.
Go on City, you know you want to!!!

If you finish 1st they give you a trophy. Can't finish 1st if you aren't in the top 4.

WHEN we win the CC, and IF the Rags don't win anything this year, then I think we are going to need to get our own banner!
I`ve always wondered why someone on the second tier doesn`t have a replica of the swamp banner stuck on 38.
Cup for me by the way.

Jesus H Christ more people want the carling cup more than a champion's league place which would open the door to every top player in the world and be the next major step in proclaiming us as a genuine top club. Unbelieveable.
If we qualified for the champs league every big player would come and I think we'd win a cup next year (and probably every fucking year after that) as well as being in the running for the PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE and CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TITLE.
Have you all lost your fucking minds??? Shit will start to hit the fan if we don't get into the champs league fast on a number of fronts, but you reckon we need a cup NOW as a priority.
I really can't believe this.

The decision of this poll is either/or...I don't know about you but some silverware after 34 years takes priority over 4th place in a beauty contest...
Besides...in reality...if we DID win the cup and came 5th it would not be the end of the world by a long shot...I happen to think we will win the cup and a CL place...but thats by the by

Well, I haven't ruled the title out this season either and we'd be mad to at this stage...
But winning the title gets us Champion's League qualification too, so its safe to say I'd take that over the carling cup!!
For the record, I honestly believe we'd have won the carling cup with hughes and I think we'll win it with Mancini. However, Mancini was brought in to get us fourth, which the owners believed we wouldn't achieve with Hughes...
So if the owners were voting in this thread, I know right fucking well which they would vote for.
I really thought it would be obvious but hey ho.
BTW, you can all change your vote when the acid wears off... its the joys of these polls.

I agree with YOU 110 % as I stood on the same argument since ever: indeed is the only logical point.
On the other hand, I may understand and respecct Mates who go for the pride of soonest silverware to be waved on the faces of the facking lobbies which stand against the CITY as well as shown to the new generations of Citizens. A little more myopic sightseen but a very understandable an respectable one.
What I'd like to point out here is that this debate luckily appears, on my modest opinion, to be everyday more an academic exercise, because the manager is wise, the team rooster is good (providing that we gets just a solid CB to face the rags's 2 legs fixture that is going to be a very tought one from all point of view) so that I frankly don't see any considered reason why can't get both goals.

My beloved Language Teacher and Trainer: insofar my poor handling of English language is concerned, when I type "team rooster", I mean the list of players available to be lined-up according with league regulation.
If I am mistaken on such meaning, corrections from You first and anybody's are most welcome...:-)
