Above expectation start to the season, then slowly other managers work out how to break the tactic and slowly good results turn iffy, then ultimately we put in a series of abject performances. I think at the moment the difference is that we have upgraded the defeats to draws - and we have to hope we wont sink further to a losing run. However 5 draws is still 10 points lost - against opposition which were you a betting man, you would put your hard earned on city in a two horse race.

For those who want to say we should be happy with how "well we are doing" my views and I am sure those of many others above the malaise at city under Hughes has nothing to do with the money we have spent - I would have hoped to beat the likes of Burnley, Fulham, Birmingham, Wigan even when we were shit - so for people saying that we have too much expectation, fucking bollocks.

The defensive personnel have been upgraded to individuals who are proven premier league performers. Yet two years running, individual mistakes are made consistently by individuals with a previously impeccable record. Were this a scientific experiment, there is only one constant regarding city's defence - and that is the manager/coaches

it's about the unlikeliest thing i could imagine tbh. keep dreaming, but it's not gonna happen. And even if it did everyone would just bitch about his style and finishing 2nd in the league.

cheers

I'm happy with Hughes at the moment. He's made cracking signings and built an expectation around the club that when we draw against teams like Wigan and Villa away, matches that we lost last season, us fans aren't best pleased.

Last season I'd of taken draws against these teams away. Doesn't that show that we are progressing well?

Success won't be immediate for us and the sooner people realise that the better.

The three results I am unhappy with are Fulham, Birmingham and Burnley. But don't let facts get in the way of making another bullshit post for the happy clappers.

In training during the week, Doug reported that EN was berating the players for hoofing and wanted the defenders to play the ball out of defence. Our main problem was our inablility to totally control the game by hoofing the ball out of the defence.

I just think the players are being lazy and shifting responsibility.
