TBF they have also reduced ticket prices for several games in in the past like the kid for a quid which I took advantage of and took my boy. If you took advantage of that, this balances that out.

Manuel was "we will play our way." But was it?

The players directed the high press? I have criticised our manager but he has to manage the ego of Yaya with the pros and cons. The
Ferns in centre midfield who both did excellent work is a bizarre addition by subtraction against a team like PSG while on other occasions such an approach could hurt us.

Brilliant heart shown that made me proud even if not always on when it should. Come on City! We
Can do this!

It was Manuel's instruction. The camera panned to him at one point in the first ten minutes and you could see him urging the team to push up.

It's also been evident in other CL games this season, particularly Sevilla away.

Good observation. I actually intended to suggest it was from Pellegrini's instructions, but to contrast that to the point that we don't often utilise the high press in matches, and that it could be that he and the coaching staff/scouts noticed that it might work against the team PSG would likely field (I wonder if PSG was a bit overconfident, actually).

Good recollection about the Sevilla away performance as well. Only thing I might argue is different is that we scored both goals yesterday directly from the high press, rather than one of three against Sevilla after Sterling's pressing very high up the pitch leading to his initial goal. I actually noticed Silva (of all players) along with Navas and KDB (who it seems to come more natural to) engaging in it and causing them to lose possession. PSG made some very poor passes in the first half when not even being pressured too much, perhaps from just thinking about the chance it would come from a City player.

Very good performance that I hope carries onto the 2nd leg and the rest of the PL season. The last 2 performances have been the best we've strung in a row in a while.

I don't want to be negative after the wonderful result last night. Let's face it, it gives us a wonderful opportunity at home to advance to the semis.
But looking at it objectively, the two over-riding factors I have seen as being the difference between us in the PL and CL are ;
1. Luck. Whereas we can't get a break in the PL, it seems, we have got away without being punished heavily a few times now in the CL.
There is definitely truth in the old adage though, that you make your own luck. And that brings me to point 2.
2. Effort. I really don't think the standard of football we have played in the CL is anything to write home about, but the effort we have put in has been 10 times what we have seen for most of the season in the PL.

What I mean is, you only have to look at the same schoolboy errors in our game last night. The same shooting ourselves in the foot that we just can't seem to shake off at all levels in the club. But we dug in, we pressed, we forced errors in their half of the field, in their box and reaped the rewards.
It's like we have being seeing in the PL with lots of teams besides just Leicester, hard work does pay off. It will get you so far, it will get you out off scrapes even when you are not playing well otherwise.

We have flair in the team, with KBD coming back and hopefully getting fit and helping out Silva. Sharing the creative responsibility.Maybe even Nasri.
Hopefully we can start scoring more freely again, but we still have a long way to go in my opinion to get up to the accuracy and speed of game that the very top teams are playing.

Like I say, not trying to piss on anyone's chips, I'm as chuffed as everyone, but job's only half done.

Excellent post mate.

I don't think many would argue with any of that. The Champs League was clearly the priority and that is evident in the players' effort.
This season reminds me somewhat of the time when Liverpool and then Chelsea won it. Both prioritized the competition, both had amazing amount of luck and both were nothing to write home about, particularly in the prem, when they finished outside the top four.

I'll take that :)

It's great to be in contention at this late stage. Shame we don't get the praise we deserve for it though.

Remember when spuds had that decent run in chumps league.

Hello everyone. I live next to Switzerland and I will be in Manchester next tuesday. I bought 2 tickets last week for the game City/PSG but they were cancelled because I never been at the etihad stadium previously .. !!!??!!
I'm looking for a very nice fan who could help me to find 2 tickets, everywhere on the etihad. You just have to buy for me with your fan account 2 tickets and we find an agreement to meet us in Manchester or simply pay with Paypal if there are e-tickets.
Thanks in advance. Come in private message please.

I am not going on Tuesday and its out of choice.

I really, really do not get that.

Me neither

Depends on your perspective on the whole ticket price issue. What's your breaking point? When will you "get it"?

I get it.

It's probably because Blues have already bought.

I've just watched the highlights properly for the first time and Joe is clearly at fault for PSG's first goal. For believing Fernando could control a football!

I wouldn't mind but he didn't even need to take a touch, he could simply have played it first time to Otamendi in the RB position or given it straight back to Hart. Ibra was almost 10 yards away from him when Hart kicked the ball.
