.no not really , there has been some bad injuries and delays in the second half. Perhaps not eleven minutes, but certainly long delays .

Nah fuck football. I genuinely can't be arsed with this shit anymore. Exactly the same as last season - unrealistic amount of minutes added on and they get the winner. Pretty much every other week this happened.

Football is shite now. It's absolutely in the bin

Looking back, 13/14, 18/19, 21/22, were some of the most toxic times for me as a City fan. While everyone else seemed to be celebrating “what an amazing league” it was and drooling over “the most entertaining title race” between City and the Scouse, I could feel it slowly eating away at me. It wasn’t just about football anymore. We were constantly painted as the villains, as if we were the ones ruining the game, while on the other side they were wrapped in this false image of purity, passion and tradition.

The hypocrisy was unbearable. The endless corruption, the handshakes behind closed doors, and the protection given to those who pretended to be the heartbeat of English football. Every headline, every commentary, every so-called “neutral” voice seemed to echo the same narrative: City bad, Liverpool glorious.

As a fan, that takes a toll. It wears you down, because you know the truth, you know what your club stands for, you know the passion, the loyalty, the hard work behind every single point we’ve fought for. Yet all of it is dismissed, erased, buried under this need to crown the “right” hero. And the worst part? Seeing the murderers, the liars, the ones with blood and corruption in their history, being lifted up as if they were saints.

Football is supposed to be about joy, about community, about celebrating the game we love. But in those seasons, it felt like a constant fight for dignity. A fight against a machine that wanted to define us as villains no matter what we did. And that’s why, as much as I cherish every title, every win, there will always be a shadow from those years.

So, fuck football, this isn't anymore the game we felt in love with.

Most annoying thing is the dippers were quite poor in their first two games and have 6 points.

They will, then again there is always the 11 minutes additional time if they need a goal.

Football hasn't changed - the reach of the media has

The media will always pander to the biggest fan-bases, just never forget that the reason the media exists, is to sell advertising, not write news, and it becomes far easier to stomach.

With that in mind, the media will always pander to the red clubs, and there's little or no hope of catching up. Leeds and Newcastle were entertaining teams with great players through the mid-late 90s, but as their domestic support was small outside their home towns, they were ridiculed in the media rather than lauded for challenging the clubs with the biggest fanbases.

It will be a long time if ever for us to be looked on favourably in the media, given the first generation of 'global' fandom was in the 1990s, and we have 2-3 generations of 'fans' of liverpool and the rags passing their affiliations down to kids. Digitisation of media now means that the Sun etc can make far more money on advertising by getting clicks in Africa and Asia, than they ever could selling newspapers. There's no doubt the writing of every media house is about gaining clicks when it comes to football, and every journalist's performance is KPI'd on clicks.

The negativity against City and positivity towards the red 3, reflects the commercial reality that this is what makes them money. If you create the bogeyman, that gets clicks firstly from fans of the red 3, but then as the bogeyman narrative grows, from fans of the other clubs.

As the associations are far looser in areas like Africa, Asia and US, kids will grow up with an affinity for the team of the moment, and in time the balance of media will change - but I think we'd have to be part of the furniture for 30-40 years before that happens and writing damaging stuff about us begins to damage media brands.

An awful lot of truth in there Sparty.

And as that piss stained old cunt from the swamp once declared: not in my lifetime. I think the 30-40 years is probably not far off the mark. We've been the dominant side for the last 14 years and our fan base globally has gone through the roof and commercially we are in the top 2-3 clubs in World football, nevermind domestically. Yet we are still pilloried by our media nationally. I don't know about we are perceived by other countries media.

Maybe once the dark shadow of 115 is lifted we may see a change? I personally seriously doubt it though.

We are not really here as they say

Yes, I agree with that, pal. The media is the first when it comes to searching for guilt.
But I think football changed and the first example that comes into my mind are the players. Just look at what happened with the Bellighams. Or last year with that little shit from Arsenal who made Erling saying: Who the fuck are you?

I think footballers are more entitled than ever compared to the 1980s and 1990s. Even the cunts like Gazza, Cantona or Jones were likable back then. Going even further back, look at Socrates and his political stands.

But I think you were spot on, these cunts are the breed of media and social media.
