We are on that one.

Say hi yeah.

Will do. Is it the usual crew? Saw Lee kinder last night around 111 and shouted him, but he didn't hear me. Saw Chris higgi or should I say he saw me and said hi. Is SoF also going with your lot?

I will look out for you. I am in coach C

Yep coach C.

Should be fun this train journey,Me,SOF,Kinda and Big Bri all over it bags of gin all round.

Party to the capital, in the crew style.
I am.up for that.

Having done the coach for the last few trips to our home from home. Do virgin ban alcohol on the match trains?

Day of the match they are often 'dry' trains. Another reason not to do it!

To be fair, my dad's in his late 50s now and has never been to Wembley. I wouldn't begrudge my old fella that. He hates Liverpool and has a soft spot for us so he'd be a blue for the day. He's not arsed like that, apparently it was normal for him as a lad to watch both Manchester teams.

I think that was common from old timers I've spoken to over the years. Particularly in the 60s and early 70s. And not just in Manc but London as well. I've met west Ham fans who watched Spurs regularly. And others.

A kinder gentler time.

Cheers

Eh?

As an old timer of that vintage I can tell you that it certainly wasn't like that in Eccles. If I had been told in the late 60s that one day I could take my daughter to a football match without having to watch out for trouble from opposing fans or the dibble I'd have not believed it.

Kindler gentler time? Go back another twenty years, mate.

Actually, I came on here to see if anyone knows when the club will start putting the tickets on sale - I'm hoping that I might have enough points for aforementioned child and self.

Oh I'll be going on the train, but with booze on Saturday morning.I wouldn't dream of driving or coach travel. Awful stuff.
I could do a line in hip flasks on Piccadilly approach I suppose.

Me too, I'm 60 now, and it wasn't kind or gentle at all. As FrankSwift says it had stopped being like that years before. If you look at the youtube of the 55 cup final there are people holding up placards congratulating scum on winning the league and City the cup. By the mid sixties all of that had died a death, and the age of the hooligan had started.

Thanks, WW, and I'm sure you're right, but I'm buggered if I can get to them - I can only see tickets on sale for the cats, the foxes and the spuds, and for MCWFC. Maybe I've not got enough points then.

Loads of third party sites selling them, though. Bastards.

Used these twice. It depends on the drivers. Some are clueless. 1 didn't know how to get to the car park and we all piled off and took a photo of the reg to find him later. The other one headed to Liverpool on the M62 on the way home instead of going down the m56. Good luck.
