I think Silva's injury is a bit different to the other injuries. He had a small build up of fluid which formed a sort of small ball in the calf. When he was warming up last week he felt like something was going to pop. He then had the scan which showed this fluid. They have been waiting for it to dissipate which it now has and he had no reaction in training yesterday. Hence he is going to Germany. I think there is a good chance he will start though. It's not like he had a pulled muscle or ankle injury etc. I don't know how prone this type of liquid build up is to returning but I'm sure the medical team have that sussed.

Watching the brief Periscope of training today Silva looked OK. Not bouncing around but in good enough shape for Saturday if not tomorrow. No Vinnie though, unless I missed him.

Open training today and the Press report the following:

Hart Silva and Yaya out and taking a full part. So is Zabaleta although he is very unlikely to be match fit for a week or two I would think. Clichy Delph Mangala and sadly Kompany took no part.

Good News! Its brilliant news, we fall apart without him, he is the cement that holds the attack together.

is it? if he was 'fit' he'd have been on the bench on saturday.... get the feeling he's being rushed back in an attempt to arrest our poor run of form. hope this doesn't backfire on us....

I really hope that he is only travelling because he is fit to play, if he is not right he should not play, in my opinion he is too valuable to be taking risks with.

Is Bony or Kelechi on the plane do you know?

Sorry I don't know. We could do with the back up though

Kelechi won't be as he is not in the CL squad.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Bony didn't train this morning either so it's not looking good. Anyone know what his injury is? I read his mother passed away last week, is this the reason for his absence?

Like us all quite glad to hear Silva's feeling better, but concerned not only that he might get re-injured, but also recall how he played after trying to come back from the injury a few weeks ago. He looked like less than half of the player that we know as El Mago and actually hurt the team by being on the pitch if you ask me.

I understand players need to play a bit to get themselves back into the groove, but we can ill afford to blow this game. I wonder if he will start. I'd rather see him come on in the second half, as crazy as that would normally sound.

Sad for Bony, I did not see Vinny in any of the pics on the O.S any news, on sick or injured.

I'm actually most happy to hear that Hart will be playing.

Forgot to mention that Bony didn't train either as was mentioned above. I haven't heard why. We have Argentina's centre backs playing tomorrow which ain't too shabby. I imagine Fernandinho playing deep with Yaya given a bit more licence to surge forward. Then Sterling de Bruyne and Silva behind Aguero. That's a fucking strong line up. Surely it'll be enough tomorrow. Surely.

It should be. But its the champions league.

You're spot on Coca, that 2012 season we barely had any injuries and the head doctor was Phil Batty, Mancini had him and his team removed and replaced with his own doctor, it's gone pear shaped since then.

Batty went on to work with the England rugby team and did a remarkable job there too, he now works for this place

I'm hoping so. Personally I would put Sami in instead of Sterling just to have some fresh legs. Maybe Sterling off the bench late on but it's a good team whichever way you look at it. If Yaya is fully fit that is a massive boost.

Looking at Bony's history and in keeping with the current concerns about how many injuries we seem to pick up nowadays, it's interesting to compare his injury record at Swansea versus his time with us.

Vitesse Arnhem & Swansea
11/12 - Knee problems - games missed = 1; days injured 5
12/13 - Calf problem - games missed = 1; days injured 9
13/14 - Hamstring - games missed = 3; days injured 11

Total 5 games missed 25 days injured

City
14/15 - Sprained ankle - games missed = 4; days injured 20
15/16 - Cut - games missed = 2; days injured 15

Total 6 games missed 35 days injured.....and counting

Also factor in 3 full seasons versus less than one full season with City.

On the positive side, nothing repetitive or difficult to recover from there.
