There is a little snippet of Jovetic attending a Pelligrini briefing on the OS "inside City" from last Friday:

at 5.26, One of the young City staff give him a thumbs up and a friendly smile. Initially he smiles back and offers a hand but after the staff member has gone he looks in the other direction with almost a grimace. He looks fed up. His demeanour seems in stark contrast to the happy smiling faces amongst the rest of the City squad.

I wonder what psychological support the club offers to players facing difficulties settling in?

Perhaps we need psychological support for those suffering delusions of knowledge and thereafter presuming that he needs psychological help? Why is it that some folk who just don't know nevertheless feel the need to fill the void by hazarding a poor guess?

Some sports players, particularly those playing abroad will have problems. Tevez and Balo seemed to have difficulties? Whether Jovetic has any psychological problems we just don't know. I was wondering what can be done if a player was emotionally unsettled?

There has been a lack off transparency with his injuries, contradictions ,misinformation. I don't blame the Club, at the end off the day I don't see what City can do if a player keeps telling them he is injured, other than try and protect their investment by trying to release something plausible to satisfy the fans natural curiosity.

Depending who you believe then Jovetic had his heart set on a move to Juventus in the summer. Unfortunately Juventus could not afford the transfer fee. City could and bought him.

As we all know he has hardly kicked a ball for 6 months. Yet strangely it appears not to have dissuaded Juventus or Fiorentina from inquiring about his availability on loan for the rest off the season.

I have this irrational fear that maybe the player or his agent might be deliberately trying to decrease the value off our investment to such an extent that City might be forced to take what they can get and take a heavy hit and lose a substantial outlay in the process.

All will be revealed in the coming weeks, hopefully he will return and play a key part in our run in,we badly need him,and i will be proved to have an over active imagination. If he doesn't return though, and starts citing that he is still injured then in my opinion you have to start thinking there could be an ulterior motive to his long term absence, and that him and his agent might be taking the metaphorical out off City to engineer his cut price move to Juventus in the summer when our £24,000 000 investment is vastly reduced to such an extent that Juventus can afford it, win win for Jovetic, his agent ,Juventus ,City big losers.

Sorry, I smell a rat here, I totally distrust Italian Clubs.

Really ?,but we don't mind playing Ya Ya with a bad back,Dzeko with a knock,Milner with a niggle. We have players dead on their feet turning out for us with minor injuries sweating blood for the cause. But we are going to wait until sick note is 100% fit lmao.We are short off feet on the ground right now.that is why we are risking players.Pretty sure Ya Ya and Dzeko wouldn't mind a week or two out to recharge their batteries. The reality is professional football players are never 100% fit,it is mythical.

About £80 thousand-a-week, as I understand it.

Opinions are invited from the better informed (so speak up - as ever) but as I understand it, under the new regime, the ultimate level of payment to the selling club and the purchased players salaries that are paid are biased towards appearances and other performance related bonuses - kicking your heels on the sidelines does not help you earn a living and it cuts the clubs salary expenditure.
You don't just get your whallop paid into your bank account every week regardless of your inactivity anymore - you get a small basic and big bonuses based on what you do and how the team does.

I'm only basing this on what I've read in the papers over the last couple of years - does anyone have the low down on this in the hope that it might quell a few of the more exotic rumours?
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

To be honest, Herb, I was just suggesting that it's Jovetic's job and that his primary concern should therefore be playing football rather than feeling sorry for himself in any way. I don't think he's swinging the lead, by the way, and expect to see him playing plenty of games between now and the end of the season.

As much as I hope that's true, I just looked it up and he has 4 games played for Montenegro this year and only 3 for us. That stat says it all for me.

Seems to be a lot more to this than a simple injury situation as Manuel has cryptically alluded to recently as well.

This season hes had a Rodwell type impact for us - ie zero.

Pellegrinies English causes mysteries because it isn't great, it's enough to get by but he struggles, if you quote him it can sound confusing.

Would someone like to see if he played his Montenegro games while he was in a period of fitness and also played in games for us around those dates?

Nearly every scenario is covered now,
He is sick.
He goes from one injury to another.
He is homesick.
He is a muppet.
He is looking for a transfer.
He's depressed.
He is sad.
Etc etc etc,
Suppose someone's right.

Montenegro

Sept 6th (bench)
Oct 11th
Oct 15th

City

Aug 31st (bench)
Sept 14th
Sept 17th (bench)
Sept 22nd (bench)
Sept 24th
Sept 28th
Oct 19th
Oct 23rd (bench)

As is obvious even to the blind & deaf, his games for the national team were smack in the middle of his injury free period, when he was available to City & even played & scored two goals. Not featured anywhere since. Case closed.

You think that was an example of me 'not' chilled out ?

I'm just guessing from your comments & making a conclusion, like you are doing with Jovetic. What's the difference ?

I have as much 'evidence' as you do.

Ok, to be fair, thinking about it, if not Talksport; do you work for the Daily Mirror ?
