More on his love for EL CITY.

£25m Spain International Vows to Stay in Manchester
Posted on 25 October 2011

David Silva has reiterated his desire to stay at Manchester City, praising the Eastlands club and the Italian manager Roberto Mancini for giving him a chance in the Premier League.

Silva, who arrived in Manchester from Valencia last summer, has been in fantastic form this season and has quickly become a firm favourite among City fans.

The diminutive winger scored the fifth of his side's six goals on Sunday at Old Trafford during the unceremonious thrashing of bitter rivals Manchester United and was a thorn in the side of Sir Alex Ferguson's charges throughout the contest.

Indeed, so impessive has Silva been this term that he has been linked with a move back to La Liga to either Barcelona or Real Madrd.

However, he put paid to those rumours whilst speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser today, announcing his contentment with his current employers.

"(City) were the team that were most willing to take a gamble on me. I don't think they were the only team to offer a lot for me but I am happy they did," Silva explained.

"Barcelona and Real Madrid are great teams but I'm very happy here and would like to be here for many years here. My family is like me, happy. People have treated me very well, I am very quiet and I live in a quiet area.

"I thought it would be harder to settle but I have made it easier and I am very happy. The atmosphere suits me, the competitiveness and tranquillity of every day is essential."
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

I think Messi is definitely the better player, but still, I wouldn't swap them; the gap between the two isn't big enough for the risk.

Silva is proven against the Kevin Davies' of the league and Messi may find it difficult to adjust. Especially with tougher ref's.

Saying that, link em up next season and I'll take that too! :)

he has been amazing so far and by a mile the best in the PL. he just needs to improve on his finishing.

You bring up a point that is very relevant. The only way a player can stop Messi is by 'Doing him', as they used to say.

The same applies to David Silva. Players may foul him ,as on Sunday, but those fouls are caused more by his silky skills than a player simply going out and wanting to end his season.

They simply don't know what he is going to do. That mazy run did on sunday in the first half, which shows up so well on the highlights. Just how the heck do you try to stop him ? You think he's going one way and then he's off in another direction. Then when he realises there really is nothing on, he casually returns the ball precisely and with amazing nonchalance to Micah. Absolutely brilliant and confident. incredible awareness of his team collegues on the field. His own orientation on the pitch is staggering.

This brings me to another point which is where the superb passing and close control gets to the opposition, namely that
the opposition are forced to chase shadows most of the time and that can get very, very tiring.

This is how we are wearing oppostion down , week in week out. Not by being crude , ala Chelsea and united, but with good ol footy.

Magic.

However, I think Messi could adapt easily and he would be a fine addition ( Swap for Tevez :-))) ? )

Not as good as what we see from messi, then again messi doesn't do it week in week out in the hardest league in the world so messi can go suck a dick.

When barca come to the etihad and get beat (if arsenal can do it we certainly can) we will all be singing.

Anyone who genuinely thinks Silva is better than Messi needs a reality check, and clearly doesn't watch enough La Liga.

Messi is a cut above anyone in the world. He's technically as good as Silva. The passing. The close control. He sets up just as many as he scores. But he's faster, a much better dribbler, and the best finisher in the world. Messi is the best player i've ever seen, and will probably go down as the best ever.

Silva could end up having a legacy as big as Zidane's if he wanted, but he's no Messi. Still, best player in the league by a mile :)

Also, if you think Barcelona wouldn't walk the Premier League then you're seriously naive. They'd destroy everyone in this league too.

Hard to argue with that. I'd put Maradona a shade ahead ...... but Messi still has time on his side.

It's actually frightening to think that Messi is still only 24. Mental.

I wonder what sort of money he's on compared to Yaya and Aguero. I reckon he'll be second band of earners and I hope the club are sounding him out about a new, improved, long term deal.

Fuck me, I hope they offer nice education for those kids in Stockport youth system.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

What I like more and more about our David is how he clearly seems to feel at home, and you can see it on the pitch.

Seems like always the first to run to celebrate goals with teammate (being involved or not), he speaks much more with refs and clearly take no shit from opposing players bring him down and yesterday when Balotelli went mad because Silva did a very un-Silva-like choice of shooting the ball instead of passing to Yaya, he had a go at Balotelli to tell him to shut the fuck up, I loved it. When Yaya scored the third, french TV were saying he was speaking to his teammate to stay solid and don't concede any goal.

It's not that I'm saying he wasn't settled before or was kind of shy, but he's clearly more vocal and you can trully feel that's "his" team.

Let's sign him on a twenty year 700 000£-a-week contract.

I think playing for us is agood move for him as well. In Spain he'd be constantly compared to Xavi, Iniesta etc. Over here he can emerge from beneath their shadow abd shine.

Glad to see him get another goal. He has the ability to get 20-25 a season due to his sheer class and the positions he gets in to.
