Doom and gloom!

Another point (and I don't mean this to get into another prolonged discussion over what we're aiming for this season, league position wise) is the form of all those teams around us. As this Premier League article on the Champions League race notes, no one is laying claim to fourth spot this season. Liverpool look like they scarcely deserve 5th, Spurs started well before playing some scrappy football and then collapsing against Arsenal, Everton are too injured and Villa too inconsistent.

We really ought to be the strongest out of this bunch. The charge against us is we struggle too much to win away from home, which obviously neds to change if we're too put in a serious title challenge (which is possible given how weak United are this year and how depleted the African Nations will make Chelsea) . We obviously do have players to come in, and money to spend if we need it. We're not playing well, but let's not panic, because neither is anyone else (apart from Arsenal and Chelsea).
