Actually, further to this, Trappatoni reckons Given is the best goalkeeper he has EVER worked with.
Now that really is saying something!

Considering he worked with Walter Zenga that really is something. I honestly believe Seamus is among top 5 keepers in the world right now but he's not better than Zenga was!
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

It's not just the bollockings and the hard looks he gives defenders. At one point in the Wolves match I noted he was advising/reminding Micah on how to position his body to stop being rounded on the outside. Not done nastily but in a coaching manner.
I feel sorry for Young Joe but he will make it at some point and his career will take off...Think the timescale might mean it is not at City.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

I've always thought Given was good, but you don't know just how good until you see him play every week. He must have saved Newcastle 100 of points over the years!

Didn't he get MOTM in a game they lost 5-0 to Liverpool? Just to highlight the horrendous defence he had to work with at St James'.

Aye, remember that game and he was truly immense, without him in goal you'd have been talking about the biggest win in Premiership history. Despite conceeding 5, he made some truly outstanding saves. For me he is the best keeper in the league.
