I would take him for 50 mil. He would be fantastic under Pep.
Raheem and Gabby might well be gone next season, so there would be room.
Oh I do hope you're right mate.
Pair of ballerinas scared to shoot.
That's a lot more bitter than I remember you being John.
I'd say Raheem needs a refresher and I think is too comfortable not being first choice. Gabby is still mostly promise without delivery...ands it's been long enough.
Maybe it's old age Slim mate, or maybe just my reality filter has kicked in.
Or maybe I am watching the best City team play the best football I have ever seen, but am convinced that their efforts and the amount of possession on the pitch is not rewarded by the appropriate number og goals that control deserves.
When we had Kun in his prime I think it papered over some large cracks in our strike department. Failures would be unnoticed or forgiven amid the celebrations of Kun hitting the net time and time again.
What I see now is that City have almost total control in thr defensive and middle thirds of a game but hardly any in the final third. Less so against teams who try to play and leave spaces but very noticeable against well drilled packed defensive teams that we seem to be facing more and more.
Mahrez last night was a prime example, a chance to shoot not taken. That extra touch to turn a decent chance into a goal spurned in order to make the chance more perfect....That never and rarely does ever happen. Time and time again we see the likes of our ballerinas; Mahrez, Jesus and Sterling hols the ball and stop momentum when speed is needed. Time and time again we see thre ball moved upfield from defence through midfield with speed and accuracy of movement and passing only to be held up allowing defences to be set.
How often do Jesus and Sterling run through one on one on a keper, only to take those extra touches that kill off the chance.
Sterling particularly actually halts our attacks and has to pass backwards or simply decides to run into a clutch of defenders and lose it.
The likes of KDB and Foden seem to know when to hold, pass or more importantly shoot.
Keepers make mistakes, defelctions go in our favour like last night...but only when a chance is taken and the defence is tested.
Against a packed well drilled defence, there is no such thing as a perfect chance and I am getting pissed off screaming at Sterling, Jesus and Mahrez to "JUST FUKKIN HIT IT"
