This guy is increasingly looking like the player we're supposed to have bought.

You don't start him for a full game if you've just agreed to ship him out (unless you're terminally stupid).

Now he looks like becoming something of a prominent figure in our back 4, could we get his name right? ;)
Roll on the 'Quim, may he be an integral part of our future success.

Seems Spanish press think he's off on loan to Valencia, which seems to all stem from an article by Balague. English press think Otamendi is coming in, but Mangala is staying. Hope the Brits are right

Isn't the whole idea that they played together at Porto? Seems silly to get rid when he's got the hang of it. One injury to Kompany and we're on dodgy ground again.

Do we really need another cb? Demi is a great 3rd choice and Deneyer will need games to develop. It's the last place Id strengthen.

Dont sell the quim the mighty mighty quim you'll have a fucking riot on yer hands.

He's been ace in the last two games and looks to have built a pretty sweet set up with Komps sooooooo City chuck him out on loan to Valencia so he can eat tapas and take selfies all day with the boys Bruno left behind.

Sack that City.

I think it makes perfect sense to bring Demichelis' replacement in a year early. 4 top drawer centre backs next season, no 'getting to know each other', given that we will almost certainly have at least a new left back coming in next summer, if not also a right back, means the defence is not completely destablised.

I think it's a good move, although the question moving forwards will of course hinge around keeping them all happy with playing time - particularly if Kompany is going to return to being a decent player (but one wonders whether Otamendi's purchase has been brought forward to give an option in case Kompany continues having brain-farts)

We won't be able to keep 4 quality CB's happy. We've been there before, Kolo, Lescott . We'll lose Denayer. I see no reason why we can't delay this one by a year or just back out. Really annoying if we ship out Quim after his great start. Doesn't send the right message.

Might it be as obvious as Denayer going out on loan as Otamendi's replacement to give him more game time? We get MDMs replacement, (or Kompany's if he goes back to last seasons form) earlier than planned because he became available and our other targets were for whatever reason, unattainable. Denayers game time with us this year becomes limited, especially the way Sagna has started the campaign. Denayer is firmly in our plans for the future so another loan to a top club who play in Europe will ultimately benefit him and thus us.

Alot of the journos on twitter now saying this morning they have been told Mangala is going no where.

More bullshit from Balague then? Otamendi is a top centre back but stick with demi and Denayer as back up!

Not sure it was. I read it in some article off of newsnow.

It seems the obvious/logical option. Valencia are set for a decent season I believe, but the question is whether he is good enough for a top Spanish side, and whether they would use him as first choice. If not, then he might as well be a reserve at City.

This Oatmendi deal has surely popped us because Valencia still owe us loads of cash for the beast.

I heard Valencia were skint and needed the money. Even a loan for Mangala would be quite expensive. Can't see Pellers letting him go.

I cant after the start he has had. We should show a bit of belief in the lad. According to Daniel taylor of the Guardian, he met him recently and is absolutely desperate to prove himself.

I heard that as well. Something like we'd be picking Otameni up for about £5 million because Valencia still owe us for Negredo.
