Dzeko

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Gets a lot of shit from some fans, undeservedly I might add. Won us an important match again today which might well win us the title. Some here seem to forget that without Eden's injury time equaliser against QPR in 2012, Aguero's famous goal would have amounted to nothing !

Saw both sides of him today.

He won us the game & did some great stuff, alongside moments of true horror.

Looked knackered at the end though, so I think he gave all he had, as they all did. The season has caught us up & we are limping over the line. If only the likes of Negredo & Rodwell would earn their wages, it would make life a lot easier.

Apart from his little sleep on 70 minutes what true horror are you referring to?

i would argue Negredo has earned his. he carried us in the goalscoring dept in the early parts of the season when Sergio was injured and Dzeko and Negredo played up top together and he was banging them in.

Did I hear right, people bleating on Radio Mcr that they were 'ashamed' of what Dzeko did staying down, that they're embarrassed that he/we are resorting to gamesmanship, what bollocks.

I think he was injured to an extent, but if he milked it to take the heat out of the game, why ever not? Why should we go into a fight against people who have knives using just our fists? I can't believe anyone should think we ought to take the moral high ground against the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, and end up winning nothing. There's nothing that Mourinho and Wenger wouldn't do to undermine opponents and the spirit of the game to get their own advantage, and Ferguson before that. These are the sort of people we are competing against. If Edin was just rebalancing the scales a little with some Balkan skullduggery, well that was what we needed to get out of a game in which we played crap again.

Well done Edin for 2 goals and pissing everyone off at Sky. I love it that they hate us even more now.

I dunno, maybe just before the 2-1, another moment where he thinks he's Maradona and tries to dribble his way through before it was cleared, instead of looking for Yaya, but it all worked out in the end. He instantly moved into position to do what he does best. We need a player like this... him or Negredo, to complement the silky skills.

Just wish he had more of a predatory instinct. Put the ball on his head or play it into his feet and he scores. Stick it a yard in front of him and he's hopeless but he's still the best 3rd choice striker around.

What a header! What an outstanding header. Very few players in the world can do that. It bro ught tears to my eyes it was that good.

We're just going to have to tolerate the glaring frailties in his game.

I was watching that header few times and Milner cross kind a slide from a defender in to a floater and Edin had to make few step back and give ball a big hit because it was not hard cross any more. It's similar goal he score to Spurs. If there is people complaining about Dzeko go down they might ask there self is there ever game where he do something like that. I think ref is insanely stupid there. You can't fuckin now is somebody injure or not only doctor know that.I saw people fall look like nothing and fuck up their shoulder.Thing is Edin will never won some of the fans no matter what he do.And just to add he is not only one in similar problem but he has let say the most people just waiting to moan about him.

I thought Edin going down was brilliant. He looked as if he'd fallen funny and hurt his shoulder but when the ref pulled out his card (which I was fucking fuming about) Edin just said 'Fuck It, You Can Suck My Balls' and it became a game of attrition.

I don't think I've ever seen that happen, the referee making a decision that was way out of his remit. The reason they don't do it is because they are not medically trained and cannot make a decision if a player is hurt or not. How Probert decided on a yellow still has me scratching my head and for all intent and purpose, did nothing more than make a normal situation worse.

Then again, I suppose that's what he wanted.

According to the Bootlicker in commentary Dzeko told Probert he didn't want medical attention, lip-reading now, is there no end to this man's talents?

Cracking header, perfect placement on the cross from Milner but credit Edin for getting himself back in a position to take advantage having looked like he fucked up yet another goalscoring opportunity just moments earlier.

So you still think Edin is behind Negredo in the pecking order ? Negredo had a good half season (not much better than Edin's) and has since faded badly. Almost all his goals were scored home whereas Edin scores away goals regularly. I just hope Negredo's half season will not turn out to be something like Ireland's wonder season !! I like Negredo a lot but for me he still has a lot to do to prove he's better than Edin !

He can be very frustrating at times, and looks half-arsed a lot of the time, but Hell has he scored some important goals for us

This really worries me re Negredo.

He is basically our Papiss Cisse at the moment. I thought he was about to be our Alan Shearer. But Alan Shearer in a bad spell was never the kind of shite Negredo has been. I am hoping that his injury was actually really bad, & he has been heroically fighting through the pain barrier, as what he has produced is completely unacceptable otherwise & not worthy of a place at our club.

Dzeko has never been as shit for months as Negredo has been.

Tbh some of Dzeko's touches v Everton were just atrocious, & his lack of movement into the six yard box for easy tap ins 1st half was perplexing, but it seemed the Count had a word & he got his tap in 2nd half.

Overall though, he clearly gave 100% & along with Hart, won us the game.

I was sure we would cash in on Dzeko, but Txiki made some comments recently which suggest he figures in longer term plans. He deserves a new deal offer if one comes, but I suppose anything can change if certain players come on the market.

Our best pairing has been Aguero and Negredo. I think Negredo has been hindered by Aguero's absence as well as his injury and loss of form. Clearly Dzeko is in better shape at the moment and with the importance of the games he has to start ahead of Negredo but if the two of them hit the levels of earlier then Dzeko will be 3rd choice again imo.
